2R now speaks your language. In your own language • 2R writes and tells its stories in your phone's language: Dutch, English, German, French, Spanish or Portuguese. Other languages get English. • The free voice on your phone speaks that language too. More dependable on the road • Chose Walking but you're in the car? 2R keeps telling. Your travel mode no longer silences 2R. • Switch to your navigation or your music, or put your phone away: 2R keeps going. The introduction now says so too. Also • Got a code? You can now see how many stories are left in it. When it runs out, 2R carries on with your phone's voice. • Bought stories or a subscription? They're ready right away, no restart needed.

2R is back to its essentials: fewer buttons, more journey. A new start • When you open the app you choose one thing: discover as you go, or follow a listening route. Then one button: Start the journey. • On the road you only see what you need, with one button within reach. • While a story plays there are three buttons: Pause, Later and Stop. Pause now truly continues where you left off. Easier to hear • The sound is considerably louder. • 2R keeps the voice you chose for the whole journey. No more unexpected system voice when a voice takes a little longer to prepare. • The first story starts sooner, even while you are still standing still. Also • The map shows where you actually are, instead of a fixed spot somewhere else. • A purchased route is now unlocked right away.

New in 2R 1.1 — The bottom sheet now works your way: drag it bigger or smaller yourself, instead of three fixed positions. — New: your trip journal. Turn it on in Settings to look back after your trip at which stories 2R told, with the spot on the map. Off by default, stays on your own device. — One clear button at the top to pick your walk or guidebook. — Source credits under a story (e.g. Wikipedia) are now always fully readable. — Smaller reliability and handling improvements on the road.
