Call Copilot lives in your Mac's menu bar and turns your calls into a live transcript and a short AI summary, all on your Mac.
Start a call from the menu bar and a floating transcript panel appears above your call or meeting app. Call Copilot listens to the other party through your Mac's system audio and to you through the microphone, so the transcript shows who said what, labelled "Them" and "You". It updates while you talk.
When you stop the call, Call Copilot writes a summary in four parts:
• Key Points
• Decisions
• Action Items
• What you committed to
Copy the summary and transcript, send them anywhere with the macOS Share sheet, or open them as a new message in your own mail app.
Private by design
Transcription runs on your Mac with WhisperKit, and the summary is written on your Mac by Apple's on-device Foundation Models. Your audio, transcripts and summaries are not sent to any server. The only download is the speech model itself (about 486 MB), fetched once on first launch.
Always clear when it's listening
A red "Recording" indicator stays visible in the transcript panel for the whole call and cannot be turned off, and the menu-bar icon changes while a call is being captured.
Good to know
• Transcription is English only.
• The AI summary needs macOS 26 or later with Apple Intelligence turned on. Without it, you still get the full transcript, with a note in place of the summary.
• Call Copilot needs Screen Recording permission (to hear the other side via system audio) and Microphone permission (to hear you). A setup window walks you through both.
• Transcripts are not saved between calls. Copy, share or mail anything you want to keep before starting the next call.
• Always follow the recording-consent laws that apply to you and the people you call.
