See every proposed name before anything changes, combine precise rules into reusable recipes, and automate folders you trust. PREVIEW BEFORE YOU APPLY Review the complete result list, search large batches, and catch invalid names or collisions before renaming. RenameDeck never overwrites an existing file. BUILD REUSABLE RECIPES Stack replace, add, overwrite, remove, case, whitespace, sequence, date, template, move, zero-pad, renumber, and rearrange rules. Target the name, extension, full name, or path with literal, wildcard, or regular-expression filters. NAME FROM METADATA Create filenames using file-system dates, image and EXIF/IPTC/GPS details, audio and video tags, PDF properties, counters, parent folders, and extensions. Import names from CSV or paste a prepared list. AUTOMATE TRUSTED FOLDERS Assign a frozen recipe to a folder. RenameDeck waits until new files are stable, preserves existing files as the baseline, ignores partial downloads, and can keep running after the main window closes. Optional Launch at Login keeps enabled folder rules available after sign-in. RECOVER AND UNDO SAFELY Journaled transactions handle swaps, cycles, case-only changes, and interrupted batches. Persistent, identity-protected history offers undo only when the destination still represents the file that was renamed. MADE FOR macOS Use drag and drop, Quick Look, Finder Services, App Shortcuts, or the included command-line tool. Pair RAW, JPEG, and sidecar files so related items keep the same stem. PRIVATE BY DESIGN RenameDeck is sandboxed and processes filenames and metadata locally. The app has no network entitlement, no account, no analytics, and no tracking. Requires macOS 14 or later.
