Photos, video, PDFs and documents: see what they say about you before you send them.
Every file you share carries more than what you can see.
A photo carries where you were standing, which phone you used — down to its serial number — and the exact time. A video carries all of that, plus the camera model and the software it was edited with. A PDF carries who wrote it, with which program, and when it was last touched. A Word document or a spreadsheet carries the author's name, the company's name, how many times it has been revised, even how long someone spent editing it. An MP3 carries the gear it was recorded on.
None of it shows when you open the file. It shows when someone looks inside.
KillEXIF tells you what each file says about you, in plain words, before you send it. Then it takes it out.
WHAT IT OPENS
Images: JPEG, PNG, HEIC, WebP, GIF and TIFF.
Video: MP4, MOV, AVI, WebM and Matroska.
Audio: MP3, FLAC, WAV, Ogg and M4A.
Documents: PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OpenDocument.
WHAT IT DOES
· Shows every piece of hidden data it finds, and how much each one gives away.
· Shows the exact coordinates a photo carries, without asking any server.
· Lets you keep what you want: a photo's orientation, the colour profile, the copyright.
· Cleans the file and then READS IT BACK to check the data is really gone.
· Cleans whole folders, and works from the Finder without opening the app.
WHAT IT NEVER DOES
· Never re-encodes. Images and video come out identical, pixel for pixel and byte for byte.
· Never rotates, never edits, never "improves" anything.
· Never touches RAW negatives. Stripping the make and model leaves them undevelopable, so it tells you and leaves them alone.
· Never says a file is clean without verifying it.
· Never connects to the internet. No account, no server, nothing is uploaded.
FREE AND PAID
Seeing what your files reveal is free and unlimited, in every format.
Cleaning JPEG, PNG, GIF and Office documents is free too, with no limit on how many.
The paid version adds the formats a browser cannot handle — HEIC from your iPhone, video, audio, PDF and ZIP — and watched folders: point KillEXIF at a folder and anything that lands in it while the app is open gets cleaned on its own.
WHAT IT COSTS
KillEXIF Pro, one-off purchase: 99.99 EUR, paid once, yours for good.
KillEXIF Pro, yearly: 9.99 EUR per year, renews automatically until you cancel.
Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation. A yearly subscription renews unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the period ends; you can manage or cancel it in your Apple Account settings at any time.

Fixes in how files are cleaned:
• TIFF images with EXIF data could stop opening after cleaning. They open again, and their location no longer stays inside the file.
• PDFs made by bank and insurance systems (OpenText and HP Exstream) could keep their title, author and dates. They are now cleaned.
• iPhone videos now show their location as a location, and “Location only” removes it.
• “Location only” also removes a location hidden in an XMP block.
• iPhone HDR photos stay HDR after cleaning.
• Word, Excel and PowerPoint files exported from Google Docs and other tools now lose their document properties.
• Photoshop TIFFs lose their thumbnail and layer data.
• Opus and Ogg files with cover art are no longer reported as not verified.
• A malformed MP4 could close the app. It no longer does.
