Glim Focus: A Cat Who Writes
Not a streak. A diary.
Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
You two haven't met yet. It hasn't grown up and doesn't know you — sit with it a few times: it opens its eyes, grows, and remembers the afternoons you came.
**It remembers you came.**
"You touched your cup when you got up. I heard it."
After every session, this cat writes a line about you — not a summary of numbers, something it noticed.
Sometimes it writes about things that have nothing to do with you: a bird landed outside the window yesterday. I watched it for a long time. Then it flew away.
**A focus app that never punishes you**
No nagging. No scores. No red alarm when a streak breaks. Walk away mid-session and nothing scolds you — it knows, but it never blames you.
There is no "you let it down." No streak reminders. Stay away for a few days, and it is still there when you come back.
**A small idea about time**
Once you begin, double-tap and the numbers dissolve into a slow, breathing glow. Time still passes; you just stop watching it. To end a session, hold for five seconds — not a punishment, just enough time to change your mind.
**It grows up**
From a kitten curled on the moon, through Cat and Sage, to a Celestial form. Growth is driven only by the hours you actually finish.
The first time you finish a session, it opens its eyes. That is when you get to give it a name.
**Fourteen watercolour coats**
Some unlock with accumulated hours. Others come from how you focus — the person who works at midnight and the person who rises at dawn will meet different cats.
**What we don't do**
- We don't sell progress. Growing it and collecting coats take real hours spent focusing — nothing else, ever. This release has no in-app purchases at all.
- We don't trade in your data. Focus records live only on your phone. No account required, and your diary is never uploaded. The app sends anonymous usage analytics only (PostHog — you can switch it off in Settings), which help us improve it.
- We don't use guilt to keep you. No broken-streak alarms, no "you let it down."
Available in English and Chinese; it follows your system language.
