Scan the VIN and the car identifies itself. From then on Known keeps three things straight: what the car is, what it needs, and what it is worth. WHAT IT NEEDS A schedule that says what it knows and what it does not. Every item is either on record, coming due, or honestly unknown, never a guess dressed up as a reminder. Log a service in under thirty seconds. Read the odometer with the camera instead of typing it. Read the date code off a tire sidewall and the six-year clock runs from the week the rubber was made. Open recalls for the year and model, from NHTSA. Reminders that are rare, right, and show their work. THE FILE History that reads like a file, not a feed: what was done, when, at what mileage, what it cost. Append-only, because a maintenance record that can be quietly rewritten is not a record. Export the history document a buyer or inspector wants to see. WHAT IT IS WORTH An estimate built from what cars like yours actually sell and list for, dated, with the evidence behind it. Your first car is free for as long as you own it, with a dated estimate. HONEST BY DESIGN Known never presents a guess as fact. A thin market returns no estimate. Recalls are year-and-model data and say so. A license plate is used only to find the car, never its owner. No ads, no tracking. The only third-party code in the app is crash reporting (Sentry), and it sends no personal details.
