Photograph a receipt at an angle and Silo Scan hands back a straight, searchable PDF, filed on your Mac and found again by any word on the page.
Import a photo, a scanned image (multi-page TIFFs included) or an existing PDF. Silo Scan finds the edges of the sheet, corrects the perspective, reads the flattened page with the text recognition built into macOS, and files the result in a local archive.
STRAIGHTENED BEFORE IT IS READ
A page photographed on a desk is a slanted four-sided shape, not a rectangle. The detected sheet is outlined with four draggable corners; move one and the page is read again. If no edge is found, the whole image is used and the review sheet says so, rather than cropping through your text.
A TEXT LAYER IN EVERY PDF
Each document is written with an invisible text layer over the page image. Export a copy and that text travels with it: Preview can select and search it, and Spotlight finds it by its words once it sits in one of your folders. Inside the app, a full-text index searches everything you have filed as you type.
CHECKED BEFORE IT IS FILED
* Put the pages in order, turn a sideways page a quarter-turn, or leave a page out.
* The recognized text for each page is shown under the crop, and a page where nothing was read is flagged before it lands in the archive.
* Each page is read in the language detected on it, or in the languages you pick in Settings.
* A name is proposed from the page itself: the date, the kind of document (receipt, invoice, statement and more) and the issuer printed at the top. It stays editable until you press File Document.
FINDING IT AGAIN
Every filed document keeps the date, kind and issuer found on it. Narrow the library to one year, one kind or one issuer, combine that with a text search, and correct any detail the page got wrong. Rename a document from its title, export a copy, or delete it after a confirmation.
TRY IT WITHOUT PAPER
The first screen and the Help menu offer a sample receipt, photographed at an angle, so you can watch detection, straightening, reading and naming before you have a page to hand.
WHAT THE APP CAN REACH
Silo Scan is sandboxed with a single file permission: the images and PDFs you pick, drop on the window or open with the app, and the place you choose when you export. It requests no network access, so macOS itself blocks it from sending or receiving anything. There is nothing to sign in to and nothing to download. Documents are ordinary PDFs kept inside the app's own container; the app does not encrypt them.
Silo Scan needs macOS 14 or newer and runs natively on Intel as well as Apple silicon.

When a document could not be deleted, it vanished from your library while its PDF stayed on your Mac. It now stays listed, the app says why, and you can try again.
The first page you read after installing could sit at "Reading page 1 of 1…" for up to a minute. Silo Scan now prepares its on-device text recognition as soon as its window opens, and says "Preparing text recognition…" if you start before that is done.
