Wilderness Permit Alert
Backcountry & lottery permits
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Never miss a wilderness permit again.
The most sought-after backcountry and lottery permits — Half Dome, Mt. Whitney, the Enchantments, Angels Landing, The Wave — sell out in seconds or vanish after the lottery. Wilderness Permit Alert watches recreation.gov around the clock and notifies you the instant a permit date opens for your trip, cancellations included.
HOW IT WORKS
• Pick a permit and the dates and group size you need.
• We monitor recreation.gov 24/7, every few minutes, day and night.
• The moment a matching date opens — including a last-minute cancellation — you get an instant push notification and email.
• Tap through to recreation.gov to grab it before it's gone.
WHAT YOU CAN WATCH
• Iconic quota permits: Half Dome, Mt. Whitney, the Enchantments, Angels Landing, The Wave (Coyote Buttes), and hundreds more.
• Backcountry and wilderness permits across national parks and forests.
• Both newly released inventory and reopened cancellations.
WHY HIKERS LOVE IT
• Round-the-clock monitoring so you never have to refresh recreation.gov yourself.
• Instant alerts — be first when a coveted date opens.
• Filter by exact dates and party size, so you only hear about trips that actually work.
PLANS
Monitoring and notifications require a paid plan. Choose a subscription for unlimited active alerts with instant push and email, or a one-time purchase to arm a single alert that ends after it notifies you. You can create and preview an alert for free to see how it works, but it will not start monitoring until you subscribe or buy a one-time alert. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the period; manage or cancel anytime in your Apple Account settings.
