Somewhere in your inbox right now there is money with a timer on it. A $300 flight credit from a canceled trip. A return window closing on shoes that never fit. An FSA balance that vanishes at the deadline. A store credit you meant to use.
None of this is an accident. When a company gives you credit instead of cash, it is making a quiet bet: that you will forget before you redeem. Every year, that bet pays them billions.
Lapse is the thing that doesn't forget.
Add anything with a deadline on your money. Two taps for the common ones: flight credit, return window, FSA, gift card, store credit. Or paste the email and let Lapse pull out the amount and the date. Everything lands in one ledger with one number at the top: Money at Risk. Under it, every dollar you own counts down, sorted by urgency.
Lapse warns you at 30 days, 7 days, 1 day and the morning it expires, so nothing slips away quietly.
When you use it, tap Rescued. The money moves to your side of the table, and you get a card worth sharing.
Lapse follows one house rule: it only ever shows money you can still save. There is no guilt screen, no total of what you lost, no shame. What lapses is closed business. The app is a bodyguard, never a judge.
There is also money you may not know exists. State governments hold billions in unclaimed property, waiting under people's names. Lapse points you to the official state programs where searching and claiming are always free, and warns you about anyone who charges for it.
