Build and test text actions for Xcode. Preview diffs before applying JavaScript or configured model actions.
EditSmith adds testable text actions to Xcode's Editor menu. Create a JavaScript action, try it against fixtures in the Workbench, inspect the diff and diagnostics, then enable it for editing.
• Work with a whole buffer or selected ranges.
• Start from built-in actions for sorting, duplicate removal, JSON formatting, comments, case conversion, and more.
• Preview edits with Dry Run and restore the last buffer with rollback.
• Export and import user actions as JSON; imported actions start disabled.
• Optionally configure Apple On-Device, Private Cloud Compute on eligible systems, or a local Ollama endpoint for model actions.
JavaScript actions run locally with limits on input, output, code size, and execution time. Model actions send text only when you invoke an action configured for that provider. EditSmith requires macOS 15 or later and Xcode with Source Editor Extension support. Some model features require newer macOS versions, eligibility, or a configured local server.
