Ultra HDR creates an Ultra HDR JPEG locally from an SDR image and a grayscale gain map with identical pixel dimensions. Import JPEG, PNG, TIFF or HEIC images using buttons, drag and drop or the File menu. Rotate each input independently, invert the gain map if needed, and adjust boost and gamma. Generate a preview, then save the output to a location you choose. Output is verified using MPF, ISO 21496-1 and libultrahdr. An HDR display and a compatible viewer are required to see extended brightness; the built-in preview provides SDR/HDR comparison and reports the display’s available headroom. The SDR layer remains compatible with other software. Images are processed on your Mac without an account, ads, telemetry or image uploads. Light/dark themes and French/English interface. Support and privacy documents can also be read offline.

The gain-map gamma is now written in the ISO 21496-1 metadata instead of being baked into the pixels, matching the web version. The saved JPEG displays as HDR in more viewers, including Preview and Chrome. Imported images also scale to the full available size of their green frame.
