That is the whole game, and it is the one your family already plays in the car. Volleyword keeps score, knows the whole dictionary, and never argues about whether something counts. Then it gives you nine more ways to play with the same words.
TEN GAMES, ONE IDEA
Volleyword - say a word, its last letter starts the next.
The ladder - one rung at a time, each word at least as long as its rung asks.
Sudden death - thirty seconds for your first word, one less for every word after it.
Longest word - everybody says the longest word they can. Longest wins the round, first to five.
Hidden crossword - a crossword, face down. Tap a square to read it, read a whole word and it is yours.
Word puzzle - the old sliding puzzle, with a word on it. Fewer moves, more points.
Pairs - put each word with what it means.
What is the word? - you get its meaning, you supply the word.
Fill the blanks - finish the word before the clouds burst.
Unscramble - all the right letters, in the wrong order.
PLAY THE PEOPLE YOU KNOW
Start a game with anyone who has the app and take your turn whenever suits. A word each, over as many days as it takes: they get a nudge the moment you play, and nobody has to be free at the same time. Or put the phone down in the middle of the table, name everybody, and it keeps track of whose go it is.
SAY IT, OR TYPE IT
Hold the bar and speak. It listens only while you hold it, so the room stays out of it. Prefer to type? Autocorrect and predictions are switched off, so nobody gets handed the answer.
