Your commute costs hours before it costs dollars. Commuted records both, now in dark mode and on iPad and iPhone Duo.
Commuted records what getting to work actually costs you.
Tap when you leave. Tap when you arrive. That is the whole mechanic. No location tracking, no motion sensors, no background permissions of any kind. Commuted asks for nothing and still knows what your week cost.
HOURS FIRST, DOLLARS SECOND
A forty five minute drive each way is an hour and a half a day. At almost any value you put on your own time, that dwarfs what the car costs. So Commuted leads with the hours and keeps the money in a smaller line underneath. The number that should worry you is the one you cannot get back.
AN HONEST NUMBER FOR THE CAR
Most commute apps show you fuel. Fuel is roughly a fifth of what a car costs per mile. Commuted uses the IRS standard mileage rate, which covers fuel, depreciation, insurance, maintenance and tires, and shows the fuel portion separately so you can see which part you actually feel at the pump. Set your own rate instead if you are outside the US or you know your own cost per mile.
ON A BIGGER SCREEN
On iPad and the inner display of iPhone Duo, the week gets its own panel beside your cards, so a running trip sits next to the month it belongs to. History shows every week on one side and that week's legs on the other.
WHAT IT DOES
Routes with a fixed one way distance, set once
Tap to start, tap to stop, with the timer computed from the start so a force quit loses nothing
Add a leg you forgot to record, or correct one you did
History grouped by week, then by day, then by leg
Gasoline and electricity on one code path, including free workplace charging
Fill log so the fuel figure follows the price you actually paid
Value of your time from your salary, adjustable, or leave it out entirely
Dark mode that follows your system setting
Export everything as JSON
WHAT IT DOES NOT DO
No accounts. No analytics. No network requests. No streaks, no scores, no coaching, no suggestion that you move closer to work. Commuted is a record, not a program. Your data is on your phone and nowhere else.
One time purchase. No subscription.
This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.
Dark mode. Commuted now follows your system appearance, with a dark palette built for it rather than inverted.
iPad and iPhone Duo. On a larger screen the week sits in its own panel beside your cards, and a running trip stays beside the month it belongs to. History shows every week on one side and its legs on the other.
History reads more cleanly, with each leg on its own.
The Start and Stop buttons are easier to read.
425 of 4,000. Hours-first framing is untouched, so the notes describe what changed rather than resell the app.
