Build heavy-civil estimates with pay items, company rates, bid review, proposal exports, and an optional local MCP connection.
Construction Estimate is the Hardhat bid workspace for heavy-civil contractors and estimators.
Build a bid from owner pay items, then organize the work into activities, labor, equipment, materials, trucking, subcontractors, and other costs. Apply company rates and markup, review the estimate for missing scope or pricing risk, and close owner unit prices when the bid is ready.
Hardhat V1 includes:
- Detail, Plug, Quick, and Sub pricing methods
- Labor, equipment, material, crew, vendor, and subcontractor codebooks
- Demo bids and rates that make a clean install immediately useful
- CSV-based company rate and bid schedule imports
- Activity-based and cost-type bid breakdowns
- Markup, contingency, overhead, profit, tax, bond, and indirect controls
- Bid review findings and proposal-export safeguards
- Bid snapshots, comparison, close, proposal, and bid-sheet exports
- Local autosave, recovery backups, and immediate quit protection
- An optional local Hardhat MCP server for bid review and safe draft building
Your estimating workspace stays on your Mac. Hardhat requires no account, includes no advertising or cross-app tracking, and does not upload bids to a Hardhat cloud service.
