Am I overreaching? Am I meeting my goals? What actually impacts me? Three questions, answered each morning from your own metrics.
Your body sends gentle signals - Long before you feel run down, it shows up in your resting heart rate. Gentle Signals reads it each morning and answers one question in a single word: are you overreaching? Recovered. Steady. Strained. Overreaching. Always measured against your own normal, never a population chart, with a scale that shows how far today sits from your usual and a "Why?" that names what's behind it: training load, a short night, a run of hard days.
Goals that know your history - Set a daily target on steps, time in daylight, exercise minutes, or minutes in a heart-rate zone. Before you commit, the app shows how often you'd have hit that target over the last thirty days, so the number is a decision rather than a guess. Each goal then shows today, the last seven days and the month so far, and tells you plainly what the rest of the month has to average: "9,000 a day for the rest of September gets you there."
Heart-rate zones on your terms - Zones are measured against your own maximum, taken from what your Watch has actually recorded rather than 220 minus your age. If you know your real maximum, enter it. If you'd rather estimate from your age, do that. If your coach gave you a range in beats per minute, type it in and the app will use it.
The things Health can't see - Tag a day as travel, illness, a stressful week. The app checks what those days do to your resting heart rate, your sleep and your HRV, and raises its own bar because it checked several measures at once. It will tell you how many it tried.
It stays on your phone - Gentle Signals reads from Apple Health on your device and writes nothing back. There are no accounts, no servers, no analytics, and no network connection of any kind. Your data never leaves your phone.
Gentle Signals needs an iPhone and works best with an Apple Watch worn to sleep. The main overview needs about a week of resting heart rate before it can say anything, and it will say so until then.
Gentle Signals is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat or monitor any condition. If something concerns you, talk to a doctor.
