WHAT NIS2 REQUIRES
The NIS2 Directive entered into force in January 2023 and is being written into national law by the member states. It covers "essential" and "important" entities in eighteen sectors — energy, transport, health, drinking water, digital infrastructure, postal services, waste, chemicals, food, manufacturing and more — and, through the supply chain duty, their suppliers as well. THE DEADLINES WRITTEN INTO THE LAW
Seven checkpoints are explicit legal duties and are marked as such in the app: management accountability and training, registration with the competent authority, early warning within 24 hours, notification within 72 hours, final report within one month, and multi-factor authentication.
