Every tap rings, every time. • The bell under your finger is now struck by your iPhone itself: instantly, on every tap, even the moment you come back to the app. • Bells keep ringing more reliably with the app in the background, including the hour you put it away on. • Weekdays Only and quiet hours are kept exactly, to the minute, with the phone in your pocket. • Faster menus, prayer lists and settings.

Every hour, counted. - All Hallows — new for October. Each hour opens with a little spooky scene (a creaking door, an owl at the window, bats in the belfry, a wolf moon, a haunted organ…), then a music box counts the hour. It runs October 1–31, and your regular program comes back on November 1 with nothing to reset. - Eight programs now ring around the clock: Manifestation, Chakra Bells, Island Time, Soft Singing Bowls, Wind Chimes, Grandfather Clock, The Harbor and Power-Ups. Every hour strikes its true count, from one at 1:00 to twelve at noon and midnight. Night hours stay silent during your quiet hours, or ring all 24 if you turn quiet hours off. - A tidier program list. Rows are more compact and sorted by time of day, under Overnight, Morning, Afternoon and Evening. - The Grandfather Clock bell is cleaner. Same warm tone, now a single steady ring with no wavering. - Faster, lighter scheduling in the background.

All Hallows has come to the belfry. Through October the harvest gathers at the arch: pumpkins, a skeleton keeper on his hay bale, and after dark, will-o'-the-wisps drifting across the night sky. On the last nights of the month, watch for the White Lady. She passes only once. BELFRY now fills your iPad, with a bigger tower, bigger bells and bigger menus. Your tower is safer than ever, and you can now bring it back from an earlier day in Settings.

Every prayer, start to finish. Every bell, rung out to its last note. PRAYERS THAT PLAY IN FULL Your prayers now play from the first note to the last, every time. Minimise the app, lock your phone, switch tabs or put it in your pocket, and the prayer carries on exactly as it began, at the same volume, without a break. The long ones, from the 28-second Tideflow to the 98-second Manifestation journeys, now play to the end. BELLS THAT RING OUT A real bell keeps singing after it's struck, and now so does Belfry's. Leave the app mid-hour and the bell keeps ringing as it fades. CLEANER, SOFTER STARTS Every one of the 104 prayer recordings has been listened through and checked. The Singing Bowls and Power-Ups now open as gently as the rest, with no click. KNOW WHAT YOU'RE HEARING Choose a free bell and a small note tells you what it's tuned to. The Monastery and Atlantis bells ring at 528 Hz, the love frequency. The Church bell's overtone sits at exactly twice 396 Hz. Big Ben is tuned to concert pitch, A = 440. THIRTEEN WAYS TO RING THE DAY Pick a programme and the tower keeps it for you, each sound at its own time, each ending on the true hour. - Manifestation: one long, clear meditation bell in three breaths, with a 40 Hz shimmer and a different journey every hour - Wind Chimes: real chimes in a passing breeze, then the hour on a deep tube - Island Time: a reggae melody, then the hour on a steel drum - Grandfather Clock: a warm hall clock, four notes, then the hour - The Harbor: a foghorn in the mist, then a clear harbor bell counts the hour - The BEL 9000: the ship's computer tells you the time, frankly, then chimes it - Power-Ups: bright 8-bit power-ups, then the hour on ringing chimes - Chakra Bells and Soft Singing Bowls, for stillness - Traditional, The Angelus & Rosary, The Five Prayers, and Shabbat & the Hours, for those who keep them. The Five Prayers and Shabbat follow your own sunrise and sunset. NINETEEN BELLS, EACH WITH ITS OWN VOICE A great cathedral bell. Big Ben. A monastery. A singing bowl, a gong, a brass ship's bell, a chapel handbell, a school bell, a cowbell, a cuckoo clock. Ring on the hour, the half or the quarter, with Westminster quarters, a single stroke or a full count. YOUR OWN SKY The sun and moon cross the arch at the right height for where you are. Stars come out at your dusk and the light in the tower changes as your day does. QUIET WHEN YOU SLEEP Set your quiet hours and nothing rings, prayers included, until morning. A TOWER TO EXPLORE Tap the arch and you may find a way in: a bellfounder under the bells, a cat who rings them when he can't, a workshop, seasons, visitors and hidden prizes. No ads. No subscription. No account. Just the hours, beautifully rung.

BELFRY 1.35 — The Bell Rings True A NEW FIRST MOMENT BELFRY now opens straight onto the working church bell. No intro film, no loading jump, no shift between the first picture and the app. The tower appears, a warm light rises, and the bell rings once to welcome you. It stays silent if your phone is muted or it's during your quiet hours. CLAPPERS THAT REALLY STRIKE Every hanging bell now has a working clapper. Watch through the open mouth of the bell as the clapper swings from deep inside, strikes the sound-bow, rebounds and settles, just as a real bell does. The motion follows the bell's own swing, so they move together, naturally. Ten bells, each hung and balanced to its own shape: Church, Big Ben, Atlantis, Chapel, Sanctus, Cowbell, Iron, Harbour, Chime, and the Speaking Bell. EVERY BELL'S TRUE TONE Each bell in the Sounds list now shows its own strike frequency, from the deep 65 Hz of the Monastery bell to the bright ring of the School Bell. Find the voice that suits your day. A SMALL SECRET Some bells hold more than a sound. If you're new to BELFRY, watch for a quiet hint after the opening ring... and try holding the bell. POLISH & RELIABILITY - A cleaner, steadier launch on iPhone, iPad and Android - Smoother bell art and swing animation - Stability and performance improvements throughout Thank you for ringing with us. If BELFRY brings a little calm or a little wonder to your day, a rating or review helps more people find the tower.

Belfry gives your day a sound. Every hour, a real bell rings: deep and unhurried, from a tower on your screen where the sky matches the sky outside your window. You can leave it at that. Many people do: a beautiful clock that marks the hours while they work, cook, study or rest. Quiet at night, unless you ask otherwise. But there's more in here than an hour bell. NINETEEN BELLS, EACH ITS OWN VOICE A great cathedral bell. Big Ben. A monastery. A singing bowl. A gong. A brass ship's bell, a chapel handbell, a school bell, a cowbell, a cuckoo clock. Every one recorded or built with care, and every one rings differently at one o'clock than at noon. There are bells you can create, inside the Belfry! YOUR OWN SKY The sun and moon cross the arch at the right height for where you are. Stars come out at your dusk, clouds drift, and the light in the tower changes as your day does. Nothing to set up, and it never asks for your location. THE HOURS, HOWEVER YOU LIKE THEM Ring on the hour, the half or the quarter. Westminster quarters. A single stroke or a full count. Quiet hours so nothing sounds while you sleep. THIRTEEN WAYS TO RING THE DAY Choose a program and the tower keeps it for you, each at its own times of day, each ringing the true hour. - Manifestation: one long, clear meditation bell, three breaths long, with a 40 Hz shimmer and tuned wind chimes - Wind Chimes: real chimes in a passing breeze, then the hour on a deep tube - Island Time: a reggae melody, then the hour on a steel drum - Grandfather Clock: a warm hall clock, four notes, then the hour - The Harbor: a foghorn in the mist, then a clear harbor bell counts the hour - The BEL 9000: the ship's computer tells you the time, frankly, then chimes it - Power-Ups: warm 8-bit power-ups, then the hour on bright chimes - Chakra Bells and Soft Singing Bowls, for stillness - Traditional, The Angelus & Rosary, The Five Prayers, and Shabbat & the Hours, for those who keep them. Salah and Shabbat follow your own sunrise and sunset. AND A TOWER TO KEEP Tap the arch and you may find a way in. There's a bellfounder living under the bells, a cat who rings them when he can't, a workshop where eight bells are cast one at a time, seasons, visitors, hidden prizes and a band in the cellar who play when you've earned the party. Play it for years or never open it at all. The bells ring either way. NO ADS. NO SUBSCRIPTION. NO ACCOUNT. Free to use with several bells. One payment unlocks every voice for good, with no monthly anything, ever. We don't want your email and we don't have anywhere to put it. Made for anyone who would rather hear the time than check it.

A bell is not a note. It is an argument. Strike one and seven tones arrive at once and refuse to agree: a hum an octave below everything, a prime, a tierce a minor third above it, a quint, a nominal, a superquint, and a shimmer two octaves up. Your ear gathers all of it and hands you back a pitch that is only partly there. That tierce — the minor third — is why a church bell sounds solemn rather than cheerful. It is not a mood. It is an interval, and it is why a bell moves people and a beep does not. BELFRY is built on that and on nothing else. NINETEEN VOICES Big Ben. A monastery bell. A parish church bell. A chapel handbell. A sanctus bell. An iron bell. A harbour bell. A tower chime. A grandfather clock. A carillon of bells of Atlantis. A singing bowl. A chakra bell. A gong. A cowbell. A school bell. A service bell. A doorbell. A cuckoo clock. Sleigh bells. Each one carries a full spectrum, not a single tone with reverb on it — which is why eight o'clock sounds like eight o'clock and not like a notification eight times. The note you hum back after a big bell is often not the loudest thing in it: your hearing builds it from the pattern underneath. Nothing thin can do that. Strike a bell eight times and you are not hearing eight sounds. Each stroke lands on the decaying tail of the last and their frequencies interfere, and that slow living shimmer is the whole reason a tower at the hour stops people in the street. IT RINGS WHEN IT SAYS IT WILL This is the part most bell apps and hourly chime apps get wrong, and it is what this release is about. BELFRY rings the hour, the half hour and the quarters with the app closed, the screen off and the phone in your pocket. Put the phone away in the middle of a chime and the remaining strokes are handed to the phone's own player and finish at the right pace, on the right bell — you will not hear the seam. Quiet hours mean the whole app is quiet, not just one code path. A weekday switch keeps the clock bells to working hours and leaves your prayer bells alone, because somebody who keeps the canonical hours keeps them on a Sunday too. A prayer and an hour bell can never talk over each other: the minute belongs to one of them, decided before either is armed. In 1.32: steadier background timing, a sounder hour, a better handover mid-chime, and a watchdog on the music that can tell a stalled player from a playing one and put it right by itself. WHAT ELSE IS IN HERE Hourly chime, half hour and quarter chimes. Prayer bells on fixed or sun-driven times, including solar hours that move with your latitude through the year. The Angelus. A noon peal. An alarm with a real bell instead of a buzz. Focus, meditation and pomodoro sessions marked by the bell you chose. A speaking clock that announces the hour aloud. Live weather and moon phase behind the tower. Quiet hours, volume, and a pace for the count that belongs to each voice — a cowbell does not toll at a cathedral's speed. No account. No feed. No streak nagging you. It marks the hours and then it leaves you alone. AND ONE MORE THING There is a tower in here. A keeper who lives in it, a cat who tolerates him, a forge, an anvil, and bells you cast yourself out of bronze and hang in a rack. Days pass in it. He is fed or he is not. The bells you make are the bells that ring your hours. Most people never find it. It is not behind a menu, not in Settings, and not something a purchase gives you. It will not open in a hurry — patience is the whole of the trick — and the app does tell you how, eventually, if you stay long enough to be told. Almost nobody has been told. If you have ever stood under a bell tower and felt the sound in your chest before you heard it, this is the app that was built for you. If you just want something civilised to mark the hours instead of a chirp, it does that too, and it does it on time. Turn it on, put the phone down, and let the day get its shape back. Thank you for keeping the hours with us.

The bell now answers your finger the instant it lands — tap fast and every strike rings out over the last, so you can play it like an instrument. Smoother, cooler in the hand: the tower quietly draws less while you're busy elsewhere Naming your keeper, your cat and your tower no longer fights the keyboard No more buzzing in your hand while you're inside a menu Info cards stay behind the menus where they belong Days kept and bells rung now count properly on the leaderboard A new Licenses & Credits page and a clearer privacy policy NINETEEN BELLS, EACH ITS OWN VOICE A great cathedral bell, Big Ben, a monastery bell, an iron bell, a tower chime, a harbour bell, a grandfather clock, a chapel handbell, a sanctus bell, a chakra bell, a singing bowl, a gong, a school bell, a doorbell, a service bell, a cowbell, a cuckoo clock, sleigh bells and the bells of Atlantis — plus two speaking clocks if you would rather be told. Six peals: Westminster quarters, change ringing, evensong, cathedral, the belfry's own and the cuckoo. Eight prayer sets for the canonical hours, the Angelus and Shabbat. Hourly chime, half hour and quarter hour. A single stroke or the full count, tolled properly — one at one, twelve at noon. Quiet hours so nothing sounds while you sleep. It rings whether the app is open, closed or in your pocket, and it needs no signal at all. AND A GAME HIDDEN INSIDE Someone lives under the bells. Ring often, come back tomorrow, and look at the tower a little longer than you need to — it isn't only a picture, and there's a way in. Plenty of people find it. Or never look, and it stays the best bell you've ever owned. No ads. No subscription. No account.

THE PRAYER BELLS ARE ON WHEN YOU OPEN IT The eight canonical hours of the Divine Office are free, and from this version they are switched on from the first minute — Matins at five through to Compline at nine. The app you install already keeps the hours; you do not have to go and find them. Quiet hours still apply, and any single hour is one tap away from off. The first time you open Prayers, a short card tells you what is already ringing and what the times are. Once. It does not interrupt you anywhere else. THREE NEW SETS OF PRAYER BELLS The Angelus & Rosary — the three Angelus at six, noon and six, rung the way they have been for eight hundred years: three strokes, a pause, three, a pause, three, and then the hour. With the Joyful and Glorious Mysteries, the Hour of Mercy at three, and the two antiphons that close a Catholic day. The Five Prayers — Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib and Isha, worked out every day from your own latitude rather than read off a table. Asr by the shadow, Maghrib at true sunset, Fajr and Isha at the standard angles. With Imsak, Duha and the last third of the night. It marks the time with a quiet tuned bell; it does not call. Shabbat & the Hours — the Jewish day, sunset to sunset, with halachic hours that are twelfths of the daylight and move through the year. Candle lighting eighteen minutes before sunset on Friday, and Havdalah on Saturday night, each on the day it belongs to. Every prayer time in these sets is computed from your own coordinates and the real position of the sun, and every one was checked against the published tables. EVERY RECORDING REBUILT All twenty voices were measured, repaired and levelled. Truncated tails that clicked on every strike are gone. The iron bell was rebalanced — its loudest partial sat an octave and a half above its own note, which is what made it clang. The grandfather clock was rebuilt warm and even, and its chime figures now rise rather than fall. Changing the voice no longer changes the volume. THE BELL RINGS THE MOMENT YOU TOUCH IT Coming back from the background, iOS hands an app an audio engine that reports it is awake when it is not. BELFRY now checks whether the audio clock is actually moving, and if it is not, the bell is struck through the app's own audio session instead of waiting. Tested against eleven different ways of coming back; it rings the first time, every time. ON THE SECOND The hour was being struck up to a fifth of a second after the minute turned. It now lands within two milliseconds. ALSO · The Peals tab has gone — the prayer sets do that job properly, and the old chime figures live in the Grandfather Clock set · Buttons and menus respond immediately; they had been waiting on a scroll gesture that was never coming · A volume slider that is remembered, with fine control at the quiet end · Rate, Terms, Privacy and Support now open properly — every one of them had been silently doing nothing · The Singing Bowls set completed, with a midday bowl Bringing back the bells.
