WATCH EVERY CAMERA See your Frigate feeds together in a live camera wall, then open a camera for a closer look. Move between cameras, snapshots, recent activity, and available controls without losing your place. Pop a camera into its own window when you want to keep it in view while you work. Supported cameras can expose PTZ controls, and Frigate Birdseye can bring activity into one view. Camera features depend on your server setup and account access. REVIEW WHAT MATTERS Go from a person, vehicle, or other detected event to the footage behind it. Browse Frigate Review items, filter activity, inspect snapshots, and play the available clip or recording. The review workflow keeps the camera, time, and event context together so you can understand what happened quickly. Review helps you sort alerts and detections, while Explore offers a broader event library to filter and inspect. Utara shows what Frigate actually recorded and marks unavailable media clearly. FOLLOW THE TIMELINE Scrub recordings across cameras on a shared timeline. Jump to a date and time, narrow the view by camera or detected label, and move from marked activity into playback. Whether you are checking a recent alert or searching a longer stretch of video, Utara helps you find the moment without hunting through separate feeds. SEARCH AND SAVE Explore detected events by camera, object, zone, and time. Save a useful clip as an export for later. With Utara+, Motion Search lets you draw a region and scan a time range for movement on compatible Frigate servers. Utara+ also lets you group related clips into Cases, so the footage from one incident stays together. KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR SYSTEM See camera status and Frigate health in one place. Check whether feeds are online and review available performance and storage information. Get notifications for people and alerts while Utara is running; Utara+ adds camera health alerts, plus switching among multiple saved servers and supported Frigate configuration profiles. MADE FOR THE MAC Utara uses native Mac windows, menus, keyboard commands, sidebars, and inspectors. Keep a quick glance in the menu bar, choose the appearance that suits your desk, and move between Live, Review, Explore, Timeline, Exports, and System without opening a browser tab. START WITH YOUR OWN FRIGATE Enter the address of a Frigate NVR you manage. Utara connects to that server directly and respects the permissions of your Frigate account. If you are away from your server or still deciding whether Utara fits your workflow, explore every section with bundled demo footage first. No Frigate account is required to try the demo data. BUILT AROUND YOUR FOOTAGE Camera video, events, and credentials are handled for your connection to your Frigate server; credentials are stored in the Mac Keychain. Utara does not require a separate developer account. Optional on-device analysis uses local Mac frameworks where available. Your Frigate server controls recording, retention, detections, and the cameras you can access. FREE CORE, OPTIONAL UTARA+ Live cameras, Review, Timeline, System health, one saved server, snapshots, individual exports, and basic notifications are available in the core app. Utara+ is a one-time in-app purchase for Motion Search, saved search presets, Chat, activity summaries, Cases, configuration profiles, face recognition management, multiple servers, automatic home/away address switching, and camera health alerts. Some features require Frigate 0.18 or later, an appropriately configured server, and account permissions. Chat requires a GenAI provider configured in Frigate. Frigate must be installed and reachable from your Mac to display your own cameras. Utara is an independent client for Frigate NVR and is not affiliated with the Frigate project.
