Elmer: Ham Radio Exam Prep
FCC license study, offline
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
All three current FCC question pools, every exam diagram, and unlimited practice exams. Works with no signal.
Pass your amateur radio licence exam. Every question from the three current FCC pools, on your phone, working entirely offline.
Named for the word hams use for the person who teaches you the hobby.
WHAT YOU GET
• Technician, General and Amateur Extra — the complete, current NCVEC question pools
• All 14 exam diagrams, bundled and zoomable
• Practice exams built exactly the way the FCC builds them: one question from every group, choices shuffled
• Spaced review that puts your weakest material first instead of marching you through the pool in order
• An honest readiness estimate — your predicted score on a real exam, which stays pessimistic about questions you have not seen yet
• Progress broken down by subelement, plus a history of every practice exam
THE CURRENT POOLS
Technician, 2026-2030 — 409 questions, 35 on the exam, 26 to pass
General, 2023-2027 — 422 questions, 35 on the exam, 26 to pass
Amateur Extra, 2024-2028 — 599 questions, 50 on the exam, 37 to pass
Elmer tracks the pool cycles and tells you if a pool has retired.
COMPLETELY OFFLINE
No network requests. No account. No sign-in. Study on a plane, in a basement, or in the field. Your answers, your boxes and your exam history live on your device and nowhere else.
NO ADS, NO SUBSCRIPTION, NO DATA COLLECTION

There is no advertising, no subscription, no analytics and no tracking of any kind. Elmer collects nothing about you.
Question pools and exam diagrams are published by the National Conference of Volunteer Examiner Coordinators for free public use. Elmer is not affiliated with the FCC, the NCVEC or the ARRL.
