AXIS is a medical English vocabulary course, written and reviewed by a physician, for doctors and medical students whose first language is not English. 1,087 expressions across 31 modules, from basic clinical words to history taking, emergency, pharmacology and the English of scientific papers.
HOW IT WORKS
You study in short blocks. Every expression comes with the translation, the pronunciation in phonetic alphabet, the stressed syllable marked, and an explanation of use — because knowing that "discharge" means leaving the hospital is not enough if you do not know when an American doctor says it.
SPACED REPETITION
Each expression comes back shortly before the moment you would most likely forget it. That is why the app insists on what you got wrong and disappears, for weeks, with what you already know. It is not about seeing a thousand words — it is about remembering them six months from now.
AUDIO ON EVERY EXPRESSION
All audio is generated by high-fidelity neural voice models, in American English, from the AXIS texts. Male and female voice, at two speeds.
WHAT YOU GET FOR FREE
All of module 1, and its reviews stay yours forever. This is not a seven-day sample: it is the product working, with the time spaced repetition needs to prove itself.

AXIS now speaks three languages.
• SPANISH AND ENGLISH — the interface and the card translation in neutral Latin American Spanish, and the whole app in English. You choose at sign-up or in Settings, and the choice travels with your account.
• THE CARD SPEAKS WHEN IT FLIPS — the term is pronounced on its own as you turn the card.
• THE EXPLANATION CAN SPEAK TOO — tap its box to hear it now, or leave it on in Settings to hear it every time.
• THE TRANSLATION REMEMBERS YOUR CHOICE — opening or closing the block applies from the next card on.
• Redesigned first-card walkthrough, and a leaner Settings screen.
