No iCloud — on your machines. fornews.ai reads the news for you: from every article it extracts people, organisations and places, identifies them on Wikidata, and turns them into files that fill themselves. Everything is processed on the device, with no account and no server. Agence picks that work up where a single machine stops. A journalist archives on their Mac. A newsroom archives together, over years, and must be able to find what a colleague delivered three years ago. That is what Agence does: it gathers into a single set of holdings what your devices each collect on their own, keeps it, backs it up, and opens it to your tools. ONE SET OF HOLDINGS, SEVERAL MACHINES • Every device — Mac, iPhone or iPad — delivers its archive into one database. The same article delivered twice stays a single article. • A collector can also push its articles as it goes, while you work. • Every element keeps its provenance: which machine it came from, and when. • Articles, entities, sources, stories and links — searchable by entity, by source, by period, by language. A BACKUP THAT DOES NOT DEPEND ON YOUR MEMORY • Destination, cadence and rotation: the backup runs on its own and keeps the latest copies. • Every attempt is logged, successful or not, and a delay shows on the dashboard. A backup that quietly stopped running is more dangerous than no backup at all: it reassures. • Verification actually opens the file and reads real rows from it. A backup you have never reopened is not a backup. YOUR CORPUS, OPEN TO YOUR ASSISTANTS • Built-in MCP server: Claude, or any other compatible assistant, queries the holdings — search, cross two entities, produce a timeline, map the neighbourhood of a name. • That door is READ-ONLY. An assistant consults; it does not write. • Reach of your choosing: this machine only, your private network, or all interfaces. WHO DOES WHAT, AND WHO SAW IT • Each person receives access by invitation, with a role: reading, curation, ingestion, import or administration. • Each token is revoked separately, and its use can be read — including the last time it served. • Full operations log: imports, backups, connections, refusals. • An archive can travel SEALED: encrypted for your agency alone, and signed by its sender — whose identity is proven by the opening itself, not declared in a header. NO ICLOUD, AND THAT IS A CHOICE • Agence uses neither iCloud nor CloudKit. The holdings live on your machine, or on the disk you point it at. Nothing goes anywhere else. REQUIREMENTS • The fornews.ai app, version 1.7 or later, is required on at least one device. It is what reads, enriches and produces the archives: Agence does not collect on its own — it gathers, keeps and opens. With no device feeding it, it stays empty. The Mac remains the reference collector, but an iPhone or an iPad deliver too. • macOS 26 or later. LICENCE • With no licence, a single machine can deliver. The tiers open 5, 12, 25 or 60 machines, or an unlimited number. Pay once, no subscription. • Reading depends on no purchase: searching, exporting, backing up and querying the holdings stay whole at every tier. Only the arrival of a new machine is gated. • Only active machines count: deactivating one frees its place.
