Turn a supported legal land description into an approximate map location. Check coverage, save field sites with Pro, and keep survey limits in view.
Find the map point and GPS route for a U.S. PLSS legal land description. Enter township, range and section details, inspect the approximate location, and keep field sites ready offline.
BUILT FOR FIELD WORK
• Paste descriptions as written: NW/4 NE/4, N/2, NENW, 12-42N-67W, 6th P.M., NMPM, W.M. and other named meridians
• The app finds the state and principal meridian from the township index
• See the township's section grid with numbers, plus the section and aliquot outlines
• Estimate the PLSS description at a map tap or your current location
• Where am I? shows the legal location under you as you move, and Guide points a compass arrow to the site, with no signal needed
• View decimal, DMS and WGS84 UTM coordinates
• Check distance and bearing from your position
• Open a route in Apple Maps, Google Maps or Waze when available
KEEP EVERY SITE READY
Save field sites with job names, access notes, favorites and completion status. Paste a whole list of descriptions and save them to a job in one go. Plan the day in the campaign book with visit notes and completion tracking. Import sites from CSV, create a portable backup, or export your work as CSV, KML, GPX and a PDF field report.
30 STATES. READY OFFLINE.
The bundled BLM-derived index includes 85,622 townships across Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, Wisconsin and Wyoming. IMPORTANT
Coordinates and grid outlines are navigation-grade estimates derived from government township geometry. Irregular and fractional townships are flagged, and government lots are not mapped. They do not establish property boundaries, replace a legal survey, certify title or provide emergency dispatch coordinates. Texas is not included because its abstract and survey system is not PLSS.

Export a daily field plan with ordered stops and access notes, or a visit report including saved visit notes. The packet is created offline.
Copy a field plan to another day with fresh visit status and no visit notes. Access notes and stops already planned for the destination day are kept.
Keep a feedback draft in the app, copy it or open an email when you are ready. This update improves lookup-history save recovery, Pro purchase handling and layouts, and adds interface translations. Your saved sites and existing Pro access are retained.
