NEW • Sounds: Moin plays a short sound when people join or leave your room, when a screen share starts or stops, when someone shares a status, when you mute or unmute, and when you press or release push to talk. A double tap tells you when connecting or joining a room fails. Turn them off, all at once or one by one, in Settings › Sounds. CHANGED • Settings › Appearance has a Mode of System, Light or Dark. System lets you choose a light theme and a dark theme, and avatar designs have their own Avatars section. • Mac: Settings › Audio is easier to scan. Microphone and Speaker sit together with Check audio and one level meter for your microphone, and Noise suppression and Input mode have their own card. FIXED • Long screen shares through the server no longer freeze after many hours. • With Stream details on, a screen share shows Direct or Server for how it reaches you right now, even after the sharer switches. • Share system audio turns on or off when you click anywhere on its row, like the other switches. • Mac: clicking empty space beside the buttons at the top of the connections list no longer plays the system alert sound. SECURITY & PRIVACY • Links in statuses always open the site they show. Addresses that hide a different site behind look-alike letters, sign-in details or invisible characters stay plain text. • Names, room names and statuses can no longer contain hidden characters or stacks of accents. • Saving a community link that points to a different server now asks before switching. • Screen shares through the server stay private after your connection restarts, and can't be faked or replayed. • Several fixes stop a server, a room member or strangers from crashing your app, using up its memory, or keeping people from joining a space. • People who rename themselves or change their status far faster than a person could are disconnected. • Mac: Time Machine no longer backs up your personal space's key.

New • When a new version is ready, a button beside Settings lets you update, then restart. • Before you share your screen, a preview shows what viewers will see and roughly how much you upload. Pick its quality there, and change it any time from the Live tab while you share. • Everyone's picture is drawn from their name in your theme's colors. Pick from seven designs in Settings › Appearance › Avatars. • Rooms with hidden people show their pictures beside the room name, with a ring around whoever is speaking. Changed • Call controls float in a small rounded dock while you're in a room. Setting a status opens out of it. • Disconnect has its own button, and pinned communities show a small pin badge. • Tidier lists: rooms and people sit closer together, icon buttons match, and the speaking ring stands out on every picture. • A member's menu says Direct or Relayed for your connection. • The tour no longer ends in a call and counts its steps correctly. • The mic button appears once you join a room, as you last left it. Fixed • A screen share you're watching recovers by itself after a hiccup, and no longer stops when the sharer's frame rate changes. • A share opened while the video codec is still downloading waits and starts once it's ready. • Quitting Moin during a call leaves the call properly. • The pulsing Live dot uses far less of your processor. Security • People you aren't in a call with, and people removed from a server, can no longer get your IP address.

Added Windows and Linux: choose in Settings › Video whether screen sharing uses hardware acceleration, Cisco OpenH264, or both, and see which one your share runs on. Stream details in Settings › Troubleshooting shows each screen share's size, frame rate, and decoder under the sharer's name. Desktop: Voice activity, a new Input mode in Settings that sends your voice only while you speak, with Automatic or Threshold detection. Desktop: set how loud each screen share plays with a slider under its speaker button. Desktop: move the pointer over a screen share to see its size and frame rate under the sharer's name. Pick a status from Quick, your pinned statuses, or Recent, the last three you set. What's new in Settings lists what changed in the version you have, and after an update a What's new button appears beside Settings until you open it. Changed Room messages are now called Status, and the button is a pencil. Windows: a screen share fades as it enters and leaves fullscreen. Add a connection connects, joins, and saves in one step. A space you add is named after its owner, and you can rename it under More actions. Invite links are about half as long, so they fit in chats with a short message limit. Links you already shared keep working. Mobile: Settings and Send feedback are in the header beside Moin, and the filter chips have their row to themselves. A screen share's size and frame rate no longer show under the sharer's name unless Stream details is on in Settings › Troubleshooting. Fixed Moin opens without Your space when its saved settings can't be read, and offers to reset it. A screen share with sound no longer drops most of its frames when the sound falls behind the picture.

New - The first time you open Moin, a welcome offers a short tour of the app. Take the tour in Settings starts it again. - When more than one person is sharing their screen, tap the sharer's name to switch to another share. - Choose your noise suppression in Settings: RNNoise, the new default, or Sonora. - Send feedback in Settings sends us a description and your logs. On iPad, the bug button beside Settings opens it too. - Settings has a Troubleshooting section with Detailed logging and Export logs. - Share your space shows one invite link, and sharing a space or community link opens the share sheet. - Name a friend's space when you add it, and change the name later with Rename space under More actions. - Moderators can move, kick, or change the role of members in any room from the member menu. - Invite links from people who run their own server can make you an administrator or moderator. - Settings lists the licenses of the software Moin is built with. Changed - Spaces are invite-only: people need your invite link to join, and kicking someone also cancels the link they joined with. - The member menu starts with the member's name and device ID, with connection readings under Connection details in plainer words. - The speaker beside a member's volume slider mutes them for you. - A muted member shows one red microphone at the end of their row, and a member you muted is dimmed. - Settings groups each section in a card, and the Theme row shows the colours of the theme in use. - Switching to another connection while you are in one asks before leaving. - Quiet microphones are levelled automatically, so others hear you at a steadier volume. Fixed - A call keeps going, with your mute kept, while the app reconnects after a brief connection loss. - When the owner of a space closes Moin, guests are told the host has left instead of being left reconnecting. - A member's row no longer changes height when they start sharing their screen.
