The shortcut that opens CamDial is now a setting, and it stays off until you turn it on. Until now CamDial took ⌥⌘C in every app, which broke the same shortcut in Chrome's developer tools and in other apps. That was our mistake. You can now pick your own keys in CamDial's settings, or leave the shortcut off. Shortcuts you assigned to presets are not affected.

New • Preset shortcuts (Pro): give a preset a keyboard shortcut and switch to it from any app. A small panel under the menu bar icon shows which preset was applied. • Your presets show up in Spotlight. • Eight more languages: Dutch, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Swedish, Turkish, Ukrainian and Traditional Chinese. Fixed • The camera could stay on, light lit and nothing on screen, if you closed CamDial right after opening it. It now turns off every time. • A camera plugged in while CamDial is running is always noticed and gets its starred preset back. The same now happens when CamDial starts with the camera already connected. • Opening the preview no longer wears a manual exposure down a little each time. • Hold no longer blames another app for a small step the camera takes by itself when a stream starts. • On cameras that tie gain to exposure, a preset now keeps your gain, and CamDial tells you when it could not. • After you allow camera access, CamDial opens again by itself and the preview starts there. • A presets file that cannot be read is set aside, not overwritten. • Control names are no longer cut off, numbers follow your region's format, and the Pro badge and stars are readable in light mode and with Increase Contrast.

Opening CamDial no longer overwrites what you just set. It used to mistake its own preview for another app taking the camera, and put the starred preset over your work. CamDial no longer says a camera refused a setting when the camera merely rounded it to its own grid by one unit. The same mistake was behind a dot that never went out on a preset nobody had touched, a question about unsaved changes when there were none, and a banner claiming your camera had been reset when it had not. A camera once judged unable to restart its preview gets another chance instead of being kept streaming forever. On those cameras the light stayed on, and CamDial could no longer tell when another app took the camera. Reset all now undoes the anti-flicker setting too, and is called Reset all rather than Reset all to Auto, because it no longer only hands controls back to automatic. When a camera stops answering, CamDial says so once and tells you to unplug it and plug it back in, instead of repeating the same error under every control. The popover scrolls when it is taller than your screen. The compatibility card shows each control's step next to its range. CamDial no longer writes the anti-flicker setting on the AUKEY PC-LM4, which stops answering when it receives one; the flicker fix still works there through the shutter alone. And when that fix cannot help, it says which limit it ran into.

Unsaved changes now survive. CamDial used to write a starred preset over a setting you had just moved. It now puts back what you actually left on the camera. It also asks before you quit with changes you have not saved to a preset. The "settings put back" notice appears in the main window too, not only in the menu bar, and stays quiet when nothing really changed. The purchase sheet, the first-run lesson, the exposure modes and the tab names are now translated in every language CamDial speaks, and VoiceOver reads the tabs by name.
