See exactly what's inside your HDR photos: render gain maps in true HDR, inspect the raw gain map image, and read the embedded metadata dictionaries. PhotonGainMapViewer inspects the HDR gain maps embedded in your HEIF, JPEG, and PNG photos. Load a photo and the app renders it in full HDR using its embedded gain map, with a toggle to switch to viewing the raw gain map image on its own. It also shows the plain-text contents of the photo's gain map metadata and data-description dictionaries, so you can see exactly what's encoded in the file. Load photos from your Photos library or from Finder, or try the bundled sample image to see the app in action right away. You can also re-export a loaded photo with a different codec, color space, and gain map settings. A simple, focused tool for photographers and developers who want to understand and verify the HDR gain maps in their images.
