Hush: Baby Sleep Sounds

White noise, womb & lullaby

Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.

Twenty-five sounds for a baby who won't settle — twenty-one of them real recordings, not synthetic hiss. One payment, no subscription, no account, no ads. It is 3am and nothing is working. That is who this is for. Hush is twenty-five sounds a baby might settle to, and a way to find the one yours does. Every baby is different, and the sound that works is rarely the one you expected. REAL RECORDINGS, NOT SYNTHETIC HISS Twenty-one of the twenty-five are genuine field recordings: rain against a window from inside a room, an aeroplane cabin at cruising altitude, a fire settling, a cat asleep on the bed. Each one was cut from the calmest stretch of its source, joined to itself so the loop never clicks, and levelled to the same volume as every other sound — so switching at 3am never comes with a jump. The four noise colours are the exception. White, pink, brown and grey are generated rather than recorded, because a generated one never repeats. WHAT IS IN IT • For baby — womb, heartbeat, music box, lullaby hum • Classic — white, pink, brown and grey noise • Around the house — hair dryer, fan, vacuum, washing machine, clock, air conditioner, purring cat • Nature — rain, ocean, wind, crickets, thunderstorm, stream, fireplace • On the move — car ride, aeroplane cabin, train carriage BUILT FOR THE HOUR IT IS USED IN The sleep timer fades out over forty-five seconds instead of stopping. Silence arriving all at once is its own noise, and it is the change a sleeping baby notices. Every volume change is ramped, never stepped. The screen dims to almost nothing so the light does not wake anyone. Lock screen controls, and a home screen widget that starts last night's sound in one tap. FREE, AND WHAT THE ONE-TIME PURCHASE ADDS Seven sounds are free and stay free. Every other sound previews for twenty seconds so you can judge it before deciding. One payment — not a subscription — unlocks all twenty-five sounds, layering several together with the balance you choose, saved mixes, any sleep timer length, background playback with the screen locked, a tone control for darker or brighter, a nightly reminder, and unlimited favourites. QUIET ABOUT YOUR DATA No ads. No account. No tracking. Nothing leaves your phone. Hush can optionally listen for sustained loud sound nearby and lift the volume to help mask it. That listening happens entirely on your device and nothing is ever recorded or sent anywhere.
