MetroBus CBR
Coimbra–Lousã–Serpins times
Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Coimbra Metrobus departures: your station, three lines, the next bus. Offline. Made by a rider, not the operator, and not affiliated with Metro Mondego.
MetroBus CBR is an independent app made by a rider. It does not represent, and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or authorised by any government entity, public body or transport operator, including Metro Mondego, AGIT, the Sistema de Mobilidade do Mondego and SMTUC.
WHERE THE INFORMATION COMES FROM
• Timetables and stops: the official open-data feed published by AGIT on the Portuguese government open-data portal, https://dados.gov.pt/datasets/metro-mondego-netex
• Service notices and operator information: https://www.metromondego.pt
• Fares and passes, including MOVE-C: https://www.metromondego.pt/viajar#fares
Always check the official sources above before travelling.
MetroBus CBR shows the next departures from your station on a single board: one side into the city, one side out towards Serpins, all three lines together, with a countdown to the next bus and the two that follow. It also tells you where each bus ends, because not every bus runs the whole line.
Since 10 September 2026 the network has three colour-coded lines: Blue between Coimbra B and Serpins, Red between Praça da República and Serpins, and Green across the Baixa linking República to Coimbra B.
WHAT YOU GET
• Departures board for your station, by direction, every line that stops there on one screen.
• Full timetable per station for weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays, with the next departure marked and a filter per line.
• Plan a trip between any two stations: the next connections, direct or with one change when that gets you there sooner, and the ticket fare by municipality.
• Map of the network with estimated bus positions, plus a line diagram of all 37 stations.
• Departure reminders: a notification before your bus leaves, or when it is time to walk.
• Station information: which lines stop there, its fare municipality and its ticket machine.
• MOVE-C fares and passes, as Metro Mondego publishes them.
• The operator's service notices, when there are any.
• Favourite stations, so yours are always at hand.
• Light and dark themes, in English and Portuguese.
ON IPHONE AND IPAD
• Home Screen widget in two sizes, with the line, the station, the destination and the minutes to your next departure. After the last bus of the day it shows tomorrow's first departure time.
• On iPhone, send a departure to the Lock Screen and the Dynamic Island with one tap: the line, the station, the destination and the departure time. Stop following it whenever you want, from the same button.
• Run the "Next Metrobus" shortcut from the Shortcuts app and hear the line, the destination and the departure time out loud.
• All three read the timetable already stored on your device, so they work with no signal.
• On iPad, both directions of the board sit side by side, and the line diagram sits next to the map.
ON APPLE WATCH
• Your station's next buses both ways, and complications that count down to the next one on your watch face.
• It downloads the timetable itself and works without your iPhone nearby.
WORKS OFFLINE
The timetable is downloaded and kept on your device, and the map ships inside the app. After the first download everything works without an internet connection.
HONEST ABOUT ESTIMATES
There is no live vehicle feed for the Metrobus. Countdowns and bus positions are estimated from the operator's published timetable and the clock, and the app says so, on a screen that explains how times are estimated. Always check official information before travelling.
PRIVACY
No account, no adverts, no trackers, no analytics. Location, if you allow it, is used on your device to find the nearest station and work out your walking time, and is never sent anywhere. The only network traffic is downloading the timetable and service notices.
TRADEMARKS
The trademarks named belong to their respective owners. The Metrobus is operated by Metro Mondego as part of the Sistema de Mobilidade do Mondego, and line and station names are used only to identify that service.
Ratings & Reviews
- This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.
• New: MetroBus on Apple Watch. Your station's next buses both ways, a station picker, and complications that count down to the next bus on your watch face. It downloads the timetable itself and works without your iPhone nearby.
• Each bus shows its run as Metro Mondego labels it, U1 for Urban 1 or S2 for Suburban 2, in its line's colour: on the board, in the planner, on the widget and on Apple Watch.
• Opens at once: the first screen draws straight away and its board follows a moment later. Each screen keeps its place when you switch tabs or come back from a journey.
• The Home Screen widget follows your text size, shows today's buses after midnight, and fetches a newer timetable itself when the app hasn't been opened for a day.
• Following a departure works with notifications off. The Live Activity reads well on a light Lock Screen and says when the bus has left.
• After midnight the timetable shows the morning's buses, and a day you picked stays picked when you change direction.
• The clocks change on 25 October: buses running through it keep their real times, and a bus that has left never comes back in the repeated hour.
• Service alerts show Metro Mondego's English wording when it publishes one, and the official notice opens in English.
• Tickets matches Metro Mondego's fares: MOVE-C tickets and passes are valid on Metrobus, SMTUC, SIT Metropolitano and CP, and the card costs €0.60. The official fares link works again.
• A journey left open after it arrives says so and offers the next ones. After the night's last bus, the timetable opens on the coming day.
• A much smaller app: the Home Screen widget now carries only what it needs, and the map and fonts are trimmed.
Everything else is unchanged: it works offline after the first download, with no account, no adverts and no trackers. There is still no live vehicle feed for the Metrobus, so countdowns and bus positions remain estimates from the operator's published timetable.
