You can now import your Goodreads library right in the app — pick the export file straight from your phone. The Goodreads export page also opens in your browser instead of the Goodreads app.

• Sign in with Apple or Google, with a "Last used" tag so you always pick the same way in. • Friendlier sign-up: we'll tell you if an email already has an account, and check your @handle as you type. • Blindly subscribers: follow your box from Home, then unwrap your blind date in the app when it arrives — no spoilers before then. • Fixes and polish.

• Find friends: search by name or @handle, and see who's reading in each club. • Friends activity on Home — see what friends are reading and send a heart. • Reading reminders at a time you choose, plus a weekly recap. Set them in Settings. • Know when a friend finishes a book or starts the one you're reading. • Fresh Blindly box artwork in the shop, and faster-loading product photos.

The Home screen is tidier. Your streak and this year's reading goal now sit right at the top, and the week's reading tracker has moved up to meet them — so what you're keeping going is the first thing you see.

Progress now works in pages everywhere, so logging where you are actually moves the bar — and the discussion you've caught up to opens straight away. • The reading timer is where you can find it: start it before you read, and it asks your page when you stop • See any reader's full library, browse all four shelves, and spot the books you're both on • Faster, more reliable book covers • Fixes to buttons and layout on smaller screens
