Calling has been rebuilt for reliability: • Incoming audio and video calls now ring correctly in the foreground, in the background and on a locked device. • Accept/Decline (and End, Mute, Camera) are always visible, including on small screens and in landscape. • Accurate call states — Calling, Ringing, Connecting, Connected, Declined, Unavailable, Ended. “Ringing” only appears after the recipient’s device confirms the call arrived. • Cancelling, declining or ending a call updates both devices immediately; unanswered calls time out and clean up on their own. • Video calls now carry sound correctly. • Clearer microphone/camera prompts, with step-by-step help and a one-tap retry if access was blocked in browser or system settings. • Group calls use the same relay (TURN) configuration, so Wi-Fi ↔ mobile data calls connect more reliably. Bug fixes and stability improvements.

CallKit and PushKit are now excluded for users in mainland China. On devices whose region is mainland China (detected from the system locale), Nzuko no longer registers for VoIP pushes and never reports calls to CallKit. Those users receive incoming calls through ordinary, non-CallKit notifications (a standard banner with sound) and answer inside the app. No CallKit UI, no VoIP background execution and no VoIP push token are used for China-region users. CallKit/PushKit remain enabled only for users outside mainland China, where they are permitted and expected for calling apps. The exclusion is applied at runtime and can also be disabled remotely without an app update. The previously implemented call functionality is unchanged for all regions: calls still ring, can be answered or declined, and no microphone or camera is opened before the user answers.
