Convert Once is ready for iPhone Duo. Open it like a book and the country, its board and the page dots sit on the left page, with the number you typed over the keypad on the right. Swipe the left page and the country turns while your number stays. Propped open on a table, it is the phone's own column the full height of the display. On the outer display, and on every iPhone and iPad, nothing changes.

Add things up before you convert. The keypad is a calculator now: type 150 + 50 + 20, press =, and every tile answers for the total. Percent works the way a traveler needs it, for the tax a price tag leaves off and for a sale. Copy opens a list of every figure on the page, so you copy the price in your own money rather than the number you typed, and you can paste a whole sum straight in. Also convert to. Switch on any currency from your deck in Settings and every page answers in it too, beside your home currency. A price in Hong Kong dollars can read in dollars and in yen at once. The clocks follow your phone's 24-hour setting. Tipping now answers for many more services. Where a country's tourism board or consumer authority says how tipping works, every service follows it: taxis, porters, housekeeping, bars, hairdressers and more. Where no authority speaks, a tile can tell you what travelers report, and it says so on the tile. A service you switch on that has no guidance where you are is named under the tiles. Where service is already on the bill, the tile keeps saying Included when you type a price, and adding on top is your choice.

When a tile reads the number in your own unit and answers in the local one, it now says so: the unit it is reading and the answer are set in bold white. Type your shoe size as you know it in a shop abroad, and the tile that reads it your way no longer looks like the tile reading the local label. The same holds for any row you have turned around with a tap.

Power advice is rewritten. It now says plainly whether your plugs fit and whether your devices can take the local voltage. Lock Screen widgets sit on a background, so they stay readable over any photo. A clock on another day shows its weekday above Yesterday or Tomorrow. The round Lock Screen widget shows just the rate, and the time on the Home Screen widget is larger.

Food now converts menu portions from grams to ounces, switching to pounds for larger amounts. Food, Drinks and Height are on by default. Measurements you already use at home stay hidden when the destination uses the same units. You can still pin a conversion to keep it visible.

New App Store previews show conversions, home time, power advice and widgets in your language. The kilogram/pound tile is now called Weight, with a scale icon, so body weight is easier to find. Tipping now uses compact tiles for the services you choose. The same number can count bags, nights, or supported tour hours. Tap for useful advice and tour choices. Women’s shoe sizes are now on by default for new boards.

Dutch and Swedish are now available. Report issues from Settings with your app version, build, iOS version, device model and language included. Review the details before sending your email. Reports are reviewed before a private ticket is created.

Power advice for every country. Compare local plugs, voltage and frequency with home, check what your devices need, and read hotel charging tips. Dismiss a voltage caution after reading it; a small triangle keeps the advice within reach. Travel cards open for planning and fold away beside the notes and coins when you are there.

Better abroad. Home's clock now stays at home: on a trip, the app, the lock screen and the widgets show the time where you live, not where you are. The country you are in is always the first page, and your own country only has a page while you are standing in it. If the time shown for home is ever wrong, set it once in Settings, under Home.

Two small things for the lock screen. A new widget, just the app's icon in a circle, opens the keypad with one tap. And the preview shown before you add the clock-and-rate widget now says what each line will hold, instead of showing figures for a place you may not be in.

The widgets have been redesigned around your clocks. In your home time zone, the home screen widget features the first clock on your list, with the exchange rate for that place under it, and lists your other clocks. Away from home, it shows your home time instead. The lock screen widget shows the same clock and rate. The tipping line leaves out the percentages you switched off in Settings, and the local time is gone from the widgets — your phone already shows it.

Fixes a purchase screen that could flash for a moment on launch after the app had been bought. In the last three days of the free trial, the opening screen now says how many days are left.
