Ask is new. Ask a question about the water in plain English and get an answer at once, built only from the readings, stories and outlooks this app is showing. On devices with Apple Intelligence, a plainer-English version streams in underneath, with every figure checked against the readings. The News tab now shows a progress indicator while it loads, and there are a few small fixes.

Readings fall back to older gauge services when the modern one refuses a request. Off-season snow stations stay out of the ranking. Reissued flood advisories collapse into one. Recut app icon, on the watch too.

Set an alert on any place you care about and get told when it crosses the level you chose.
