Peeper is a field-oriented listening tool for frog and toad calls. In quiet outdoor conditions, tap Listen and Peeper analyzes short microphone samples with a regional model, then presents likely species as candidate matches with model scores.
Review recent candidates, open species background information, and email or share a session summary from your device. Location access is optional and is used while the app is open to select an appropriate North American region; you can continue with the current region when location is unavailable.
Automated identifications can be wrong, particularly around speech, vehicles, wind, music, and other competing sounds. Confirm important observations independently. Peeper is not intended as the sole basis for research, regulatory, legal, medical, or safety decisions. Network access is required for live analysis.
