Himotoku: Diary & Assistant
Talk or type, ask your past
Only for iPhone
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPhone. Not verified for macOS.
iPhone
Talk or type; it becomes a diary page. To-dos go to Reminders with a tap. Photograph paper diaries. Your first 30 entries and 3 questions are free; export always is.
Ask your past self.
"When did I last talk with Tanaka?" "What did I spend last month on?" — every answer comes with its source page. If your diary doesn't say, Himotoku says so.
■ Talk for 90 seconds
Say what happened today. It is transcribed on this iPhone and organized into a readable diary page. No typing, no willpower needed.
On days you would rather write, type it. Keep the text as written, or have it organized the same way, with to-dos and plans picked out.
When to-dos and plans are found, add them to Reminders and Calendar with one tap. Nothing is added unless you tap.
■ Ask your past
Ask your pages in plain words. Answers cite the day they came from and never invent what isn't written. "When did I decide that?" "What was I doing this time last year?" — your diary becomes something you can use later.
■ Bring in paper diaries
Photograph years of paper diaries. Whatever can be read becomes searchable in your timeline. The original photos stay with the page.
■ Your diary stays on this iPhone
• Your diary is never stored on the developer's servers (there is no database to store it in)
• It is never used to train AI
• Your voice never leaves the device; speech is transcribed on this iPhone
• Only when organizing or answering a question, the text for that one step is sent to Microsoft's Azure AI service (Japan region) for AI processing. It may be retained for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring
• Export everything as Markdown and audio at any time
■ Free and paid
Free: your first 30 entries, spoken or typed, organized by AI. Your first 3 questions to your past.
Plus (monthly, 7-day free trial): unlimited recording and organizing, ask your past, and search by meaning. Renews automatically after the free trial; cancel during the trial and you pay nothing.
After those 30, your existing pages stay readable and searchable, and you can still export everything as Markdown and audio, for free.
■ A quiet app
No nagging notifications (the only one, if you opt in, is a monthly export reminder). No countdowns, no full-screen ads.
Requires iPhone with iOS 17 or later. Japanese and English.
