Mantel puts a shelf at the top of your screen — right where your cursor already goes.
Take a screenshot and it disappears from your desktop within a second, landing on the shelf as a thumbnail. Your desktop stays clean, and the file is one drag away from wherever you need it.
WHAT IT DOES
• Catches screen captures automatically. New screenshots and screen recordings leave the desktop and go to the shelf. Ordinary files are never touched. A recording in progress is left alone until it is finished, so you never get a broken file.
• Drags out anywhere. Pull a thumbnail into Finder, a chat window, a mail draft or another desktop. It hands over the real file, and you can drag several at once.
• Sends files to Google Drive. Press the Drive button or drop a file straight onto it, then choose the folder it should land in. Nothing is uploaded on its own — only what you ask for.
• Watches folders you choose. Point it at Downloads or a scan folder and everything new that appears there shows up on the shelf, copied or moved as you prefer.
• Shows what is playing. Artwork, title, artist and playback controls for Music and Spotify, plus a player for audio files sitting on the shelf.
• Stays out of the way. The shelf is a thin line until your cursor reaches the top of the screen, then it slides open. It is visible on every desktop and above full-screen windows, and it costs nothing when idle.
• Cleans up after itself. Set a retention period and older items move to the Trash on their own, or keep everything until you delete it yourself.
PRIVACY
Everything stays on your Mac. Mantel has no accounts, no analytics and no servers. It never sends your files anywhere — copying to Google Drive means copying into the Drive folder already on your computer.
