Built around your season, your body and your equipment. A 30-second daily check-in adjusts today's session, with an always-on reason why. Works with no gym, no gear.
Footy Ready is a personal off-season, pre-season and in-season training coach for amateur footballers: Aussie rules, rugby league, rugby union and soccer. Where you play sets how much running your plan aims for, and your code picks its pre-season hard sessions: longer efforts for Aussie rules, turns and cuts for soccer, shorter efforts for league and union. League and union also get neck and shoulder strength work where sessions have room. Footy Ready does not coach tackling or contact technique. Most plans you find online are static PDFs written for a 22-year-old with a full gym. Footy Ready is different: it builds your plan around who you actually are, when your season actually starts, and how you actually feel today.
BUILT AROUND YOU, NOT A GENERIC SQUAD
Tell Footy Ready your code, where you play, your age, your training history, your injury history, your equipment and the days you can actually train, and it builds a program around all of it, not a one-size-fits-all template. Enter your season's round 1 date and it periodises backwards from there and forwards through finals, so the training you're doing in December actually points at the season ahead.
A CHECK-IN THAT CHANGES TODAY'S SESSION
Every day starts with a 30-second readiness check-in. Depending on how you answer, today's session adjusts: lighter, shorter, or run as planned, and Footy Ready always tells you why, including on the days nothing changes. That "why" is what makes the app worth trusting on the days it does pull something back.
EVERY PHASE OF THE YEAR
Off-season, pre-season, in-season, finals and the reset after them: six phases, each with its own focus, generated from your actual season dates rather than a generic calendar. Lifting and running sessions adjust to your equipment tier, your available time and your training history, and any exercise you can't safely do because of an injury or your age is never surfaced, on any screen.
NO GYM? NO PROBLEM
Full programs are available for a garage, a park or a loaded barbell. If your gear is "not much," the running and bodyweight work carries the session.
BUILT FOR WHO'S ACTUALLY PLAYING
Footy Ready applies conservative, age-appropriate caps automatically for under-18 athletes as they train (and lifts them the moment you turn 18), and biases toward recovery and staying on the field for masters and veteran players.
TRY IT ON YOUR OWN SEASON, FREE
The full assessment, your complete season outline across all six phases, one real session generated from your own answers and fully playable, and one real readiness check-in applied to it, are free forever. No trial clock, no locked preview: it's your actual Week 1, Day 1, and a real check-in that really changes it.
Every session after that one, and every check-in after the first, is part of the subscription, with a free trial and a yearly option built for the September pre-season rush. Your training history is never locked: every session you have logged stays readable whether you're subscribed or not.
YOUR TRAINING, YOUR DEVICE, YOUR iCLOUD
No account, no sign-in and no server of the developer's. Your assessment, your check-ins and every session you log stay on your device unless you turn on the optional iCloud backup yourself, off by default, which copies them to your own private iCloud so they come back if you lose your phone. Footy Ready never sees your training either way, and there is no analytics or advertising SDK in the app.
Footy Ready gives general fitness guidance, not medical advice, and is not physiotherapy or rehabilitation. Anything flagged as sore is worked around, not through; see a health professional for anything more than that.
Footy Ready is an independent training app for amateur Aussie rules, rugby league, rugby union and soccer players. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any league or governing body.

Ratings & Reviews

Your football code now shapes your plan.
Soccer gets its own pre-season hard running sessions, with turns and cuts. Rugby league and union share theirs: shorter efforts, some with get-ups and starts from the ground. The minutes of running stay the same, and Aussie rules sessions are unchanged.
Rugby league and union plans change when you update, with nothing for you to do. Your running aims a little lower, and neck and shoulder strength work is added where your session length has room. The work does not coach tackling or contact technique. Adding your position fine-tunes both.
Tell the app where you play. Setup now asks for your position, and you can change it under Your game in Settings. If you have not chosen one, a card on Today asks. Your position sets how much running your plan aims for, mostly in the off-season and pre-season, and in the rugby codes how much neck work it adds. In Aussie rules it changes nothing until you pick one other than midfield or wing.
When your code or position means less running in a week, Worth knowing on the Season tab says how many minutes and why. For goalkeepers it says the plan does not program the keeping itself. Their plan is the strength, robustness and running work around it.
Room for a run when your week has none. With no club training and no running day, one lift a week now ends with a run. Before round 1, on one or two days a week, it is 10 to 20 minutes of steady running. From round 1 through finals it is 10 minutes easy, unless your games already use all the running your body can absorb. The lifting gives up a few sets where it needs to, so the session still fits. When your sessions are too short for a run, Worth knowing says so, and any easy run you fit in yourself counts.
Longer sessions are suggested only where they help. When a week comes in under the useful minimum for some lifting, the note now works out from your own week whether longer sessions would close the gap.
Exercises come at reps that suit them. A bodyweight squat or a glute bridge is no longer set at three to five reps like a heavy barbell lift, and the swap list shows the reps beside any option that would change them.
Holds and carries are timed. Planks, wall sits, carries and similar holds are set and logged in seconds, and your best and last times count only sets logged that way.
A current knee means no squats. If you have told the app about a knee problem that is current, every squat is out of your plan, bodyweight squats included, and the session tells you why.
Your running carries into pre-season. Your off-season running base no longer drops back to the start, and when a late pre-season week has room for a long run or a speed session, it keeps the long run.
A fuller second lift for new lifters. A beginner's second lift is now a full session, with a spread of movements at one set each, and second sets arrive over the first few weeks of each phase.
When your season ends, the app takes you to next season's dates. Round 1 moves on a year, your rounds and finals carry over, and your new plan opens with a post-season reset. Everything you logged is kept, along with your other answers and the exercises you swapped.
Your first session is today or later. If you set up partway through a week, the arrival screen and Today offer the same session, and on the free tier it is the one you can start.
Your check-in reaches the Season tab. Opening today from Season gives you the same lighter or recovery session that Today shows.
Setup now asks that you are 13 or older.
Wording that matches your week. The bye week, finals taper, empty week and under-18 notes, the goals question, the questions about you and several session descriptions now say only what your own plan does. A logged run shows its minutes, and a check-in on a day with no session says so.
Height and weight are quicker to set. During setup they are now a pair of wheels, so any height and weight is a short scroll away.
