Quilt math, done right.
Sashing gives you fast, accurate fabric calculators for every part of a quilt, with sensible defaults that stop you over-cutting and wasting fabric. Every calculator shows its formula, so you can check the numbers before you cut.
Works completely offline. No ads, no account, nothing to sign up for.
FREE CALCULATORS
• Backing — yardage with the fewest seams, both orientations compared
• Batting — size with your preferred overhang
• Binding — straight grain or continuous bias, with the strip count
• Borders — up to four rounds, butted or mitered
• Sashing — with cornerstones and outside framing
• Fabric yardage — how much for any set of pieces
• Unit converter — inches, feet, yards, centimeters, meters
Your seam allowance, binding width, fabric width and units are saved once and remembered everywhere.
A small stash and two projects are free as well, so you can try them for real before you decide. Premium lifts the limits.

FABRIC STASH
Photograph a fabric and Sashing tags its color for you, on device. Record yardage, width, collection, where it is stored and what it cost. Flag low stock, keep a wishlist for when you are out buying fabric, and a separate bin for scraps. Sort and filter by color, amount, width or collection, and name a batch of photos once. At the fabric store, Store Mode reads a bolt's color and tells you whether you already own it and what on your shelf would go with it.
PROJECTS AND UFOs
Follow every quilt from planning through cutting, piecing, basting, quilting, binding and labeling, or park it as a UFO and pick it up later. Link its fabrics, set a deadline with a reminder, and deduct the yardage from your stash in one tap. At the end of the year, see your Year in Quilts.
QUILT DESIGNER
Lay out a quilt from thirty traditional blocks, or draw your own in the block editor. Set them straight, in a brick offset, or on point with the setting triangles counted for you. Preview it in your own fabrics, then export the cut list and yardage as a PDF, a CSV or a shareable card.
ALSO INCLUDED
Home screen widgets, an Apple Watch app, Siri shortcuts, iPad and Apple Pencil support, iCloud sync across your own devices, four themes, and full backup and restore. Every calculator carries a short how-to, standard quilt sizes are one tap away, lengths can be typed as fractions like 2 1/2, and the backing calculator offers a single diagonal seam that saves fabric.
Imperial and metric throughout, converted properly rather than relabeled.
PRIVACY
