Physio Student is the timetable, the placement record and the notebook a physiotherapy student needs on one phone, or on an iPad.
YOUR TIMETABLE, CALENDAR AND COURSES — FREE
Lectures, placement shifts, clinics, study and exams, each in its own colour, with weekly and fortnightly repeats entered once. Today's slots sit at the top of the dashboard, and the one happening now is marked.
Your profile holds every course you are on, because more than one can run at once: the university, the year, how you study it, your student number, the dates, your personal tutor and the modules.
The timetable and calendar stay free. A student whose subscription has lapsed still has a shift to get to at half past seven.
WHAT THE SUBSCRIPTION ADDS
The record-keeping you build up over three years:
• Study notes: what you saw and learned, typed or dictated, with sketches and handwriting — a body chart, a joint, a movement — and a reminder if you want one
• Dictation: say it on the walk back to the office and keep the words
• Placements: the hours logged against each placement, day by day, against the hours required, with a note on each day
• Observations: pulse, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation, blood pressure and temperature, kept in sets
• OSCE practice: stations run against the clock, and how each attempt scored
REMINDERS AND NOTIFICATIONS
Reminders are set on your phone, from what you have entered: before a timetable slot, to log placement hours, or on a note. Every queued reminder is listed in Settings, and any one can be cancelled. Notifications are off until you turn them on.
PRIVACY, PLAINLY
Your notes, timetable, courses and records stay on your device, in a database encrypted at rest. They are not uploaded, analysed or shared, and there is no advertising or analytics code in the app. What does leave the device is listed in the privacy policy: an email address if you claim access granted to it, the details needed to send notifications if you turn them on, and your subscription purchases, used only to keep your access in step.
A PIN can be set, and is worth setting: this app can hold notes from placement, and a student's phone gets handed round a ward office.
NOT A CLINICAL TOOL
Physio Student is a study aid. It is not a medical device, it does not diagnose anything, and it is not a substitute for your university's teaching, your practice educator, or your professional judgement. Nothing in it should be used to make a decision about a real patient's care.
SUBSCRIPTION
The timetable, the calendar and your profile are free. Physio Student Full Access unlocks everything else. Two lengths: Monthly (one month) and Quarterly (three months). New subscribers get the first month free; the trial becomes a paid subscription unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before it ends. The price is shown in the app before anything is bought, and varies by country. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before that period ends. Manage or cancel it from the Manage subscription button in the app, or in your App Store account settings; cancelling stops the next renewal and leaves the current period running.
