Brown Shop is the marketplace for Brown and RISD students. Sell the clothes, dorm gear and textbooks you're done with, find someone else's for a fraction of retail, and hand things over on campus between classes.
BUILT FOR ONE CAMPUS
Sign-up is limited to @brown.edu and @risd.edu email addresses, so everyone you buy from and sell to is a student on College Hill. No shipping labels, no strangers driving across town, no meeting in a parking lot.
PAY IN THE APP, MEET ON CAMPUS
Buyers pay through the app when they commit to an item. The money is held until the buyer confirms the handoff actually happened, then it's released to the seller. If the meetup falls through, the buyer gets a full refund. Card details go straight to Stripe and never touch our servers.
PICK A TIME THAT WORKS
After a sale, the seller offers meetup times at real campus spots - the Main Green, the Blue Room, the Sci-Li lobby, RISD Beach and more. The buyer picks one. Both sides get a reminder, and either can reschedule.
SELL IN UNDER A MINUTE
Snap a few photos, set a price, publish. Your shop page collects everything you have for sale, everything you've sold, and the reviews you've earned.
MAKE AN OFFER
Not sure about the price? Send an offer. Sellers can accept, decline, or counter, and offers expire on their own so nothing hangs around forever.
REVIEWS THAT MEAN SOMETHING
Reviews only unlock after a completed, in-person handoff, so a rating reflects an exchange that actually happened.
FEES
Listing is free. Sellers pay 3.5% + $1.50 when an item sells. Buyers pay a 5% + $1.50 service fee at checkout, which covers payment protection until the handoff is confirmed.
