iPhone
Freed up space, but older videos won’t play until they download? Pick the ones you rewatch and Untouched keeps them on your iPhone, ready to play, even offline.
Phones often free up space by swapping full-resolution photos and videos for small previews to save room. That's where the blurry playback comes from later — and there's usually no per-item switch to say "keep this one on my device." No app can add one, either. The system decides.
Untouched takes a different route. It copies the original file of the photos and videos you choose into its own folder, somewhere the cleanup never reaches.
BYTE-FOR-BYTE
Not an export. Not a re-encode. The same file the camera wrote — same codec, same bitrate, EXIF intact. A Live Photo keeps its paired video; an edited clip keeps the untouched original alongside it.
YOU CAN PROVE IT'S INTACT
Every item is checksummed with SHA-256 when it goes in, and you can re-verify any time. Silent corruption in a file you only open once every few years is exactly the failure an archive exists to prevent — and the only way to catch it is to check.
YOU CAN ALWAYS WALK AWAY
Files → On My iPhone → Untouched. Every item is an ordinary folder with a readable name. Drag it to a Mac, an external drive, anywhere. No export feature to learn, and it opens fine without this app installed.
NOTHING IS UPLOADED
No servers, no account. Your files never leave your phone. The only thing that goes out is anonymous crash-and-usage counts — never filenames, never albums, never locations, never the content itself.
HONEST ABOUT THE LIMITS
A second copy is not a backup. This protects against your phone's own storage cleanup, not against losing the phone. The real backup is that folder on your own drive — opening it up to Files is exactly why.
Archive one item free. Unlock unlimited with a subscription or a one-time purchase — and whatever you have already archived stays yours either way, forever, even if you stop paying or delete the app.
