Press a hotkey, type a few letters, press return — the song plays and the panel is gone. Your whole library, one keystroke away.
MusicPop puts your music library in the menu bar. Press a hotkey, type a few letters, press return — the song plays and the panel is gone.
It plays your library itself rather than driving the Music app, so nothing heavy launches, nothing lands in your Dock, and nothing steals focus.
Summon, type, play — ⌘⇧M from anywhere. Four letters usually finds it. Return plays it and the panel disappears.
Browse and play in one place — songs, artists, albums and your playlists in a sidebar, a list or a grid beside it, and the transport pinned along the bottom. Changing what's playing never means leaving what you're looking at.
Search everything — results narrow as you type, across songs, artists and albums.
Pin your own folders — point MusicPop at a folder of audio files and it plays those alongside your library.
Shuffle per section — Songs can shuffle while Albums plays in order. Each section remembers its own setting.
Tend your library — add a song to a playlist, take it out, favourite it or dislike it, without leaving the panel.
Up Next — see the queue, reorder it, or drop a song in to play next.
Popover or window — live in the menu bar, or float a resizable window and leave it open. Same view, same state.
Picks up where you left off — quit mid-song and MusicPop remembers the track and the second you stopped at. It waits, paused, rather than startling you on login.
Keyboard the whole way — arrow down from the search field into the results. Space plays and pauses, even from the search box, as long as you haven't started typing.
An Apple Music subscription is needed to play your cloud library. Folders you pin yourself play without one.
No accounts, no analytics, no subscriptions of our own — everything stays on your Mac.
Ratings & Reviews
This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.
New:
• Search all of Apple Music, not just your library. Choose Apple Music from the menu in the search field to find songs and albums, play them right away, and add them to your library with one click.
• The play, pause and skip buttons are easier to click.
Fixed:
• Playback no longer stops partway through a song whose stream is shorter than its listed length. The next song now starts.
• After a relaunch, pausing a song you've just started no longer sends it to where the previous one left off.
