WHERE TO WATCH, FOR WHERE YOU ARE A show's "where to watch" list could name a service that carries it in another country but not in yours — so a US viewer might be told a show was on Netflix when only Netflix Canada had it. Bingester now asks only about your region, and ignores anything from outside it.

FOLLOW YOUR TEAMS A new Sports tab. Pick your teams from the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, WNBA, college football and men's and women's college basketball, and see the next two weeks of games — the start time in your own time zone, and the channel or service carrying each one. Not a sports fan? Switch the whole tab off in Settings and the app never contacts a sports service at all. LIVE SCORES WHILE THE GAME IS ON Open the Sports tab during a game and the score and the period update as you watch. A game that finished earlier the same day keeps its final score until the end of the day, so you can still see how it went. A HEADS-UP ON GAME DAY "Game Day" arrives at 8am on a day one of your teams plays, with the time and where to watch. It stays switched off until you turn it on, in Settings under Notifications. STREAMING RELEASES, ON THE DAY THEY LAND Shows that premiere on a streaming service — Reacher, Wednesday and the like — can be watched the moment they drop, but "Available to Stream" was waiting until the following day to say so. It now tells you on the release date itself. ALSO FIXED A crash that could strike when iCloud sync tidied up duplicate shows while the app was checking for new episodes. A rare case where a show arriving from iCloud could disappear along with everything you had ticked off. And the 8am notification now follows you across time zones, instead of staying on the one the app last launched in.

SEE WHAT'S WAITING, THE MOMENT YOU OPEN THE APP The Discover screen now opens on a short summary instead of an empty space: what airs today, and what has already aired and is ready to watch. One line per show however many episodes are waiting — tap it to go straight there. Nothing on today? It tells you what's next. EVERY STREAMING SERVICE, NOT JUST THE FIRST FEW A show's screen now lists every service carrying it, under "Where to watch". Before, a row could say "+3 others" with nowhere to go and see them. The same service is listed once now, too, rather than repeated for each reseller. (Needs a free Watchmode key in Settings.) PULL DOWN TO REFRESH A SHOW Pull down on a show's episode list to fetch the latest details from TVmaze right away — useful when an episode has just aired, or when a broadcaster moves one at short notice. EPISODE STILLS THAT ACTUALLY TURN UP Recently aired episodes were being left without their picture for days at a time. They now fill in on their own. Where no still exists at all — common for unscripted shows — the show's own artwork stands in, instead of a blank grey box on every row.
