Custom color sequences Not every cable follows TIA-598. A manufacturer with its own order, a country with a different one, a cable old enough that nobody publishes its color code any more — until now the app could only tell you it didn't know. Now you can tell it. Build the sequence yourself, up to 13 positions including a natural uncolored fiber. Name the colors the way your crew says them. Set which color the repeat marking is printed in, instead of the app assuming a black dash. It still never guesses. A custom sequence is labeled as yours everywhere it appears, and one tap puts you back on the TIA-598 standard — without deleting your profiles or your names. Share a profile with your crew Work a cable out once, then send it to everyone else. Export produces a short block of text that travels through whatever you already use — message, email, a note app. The other phone pastes it into Import and gets the same definition, checked for damage on the way in. No account, no sign-in, nothing over the internet. Works with no signal, like the rest of the app. The binder thread, in the answer itself On a tube holding more than twelve fibers, the result now names the thread the fiber sits under — "Solid Aqua, under the blue thread" — instead of leaving that to the note below it. On a 24-count, that second group of twelve is usually a colored string rather than a printed dash, and the app now says so where you are actually looking. Tube or string, when it could be either A cable with no buffer tubes holds its fibers in binder strings instead, and nothing you enter tells the app which one is in your hands. It used to print "Tube 1" regardless. At twelve fibers per group or fewer it now reads "Tube 1 / String 1" and names both, because either one may be in front of you. Above twelve it is a tube, and the thread line already names the strings inside it.

You can now rate the app from the star in the top bar. It opens the App Store review sheet directly. The app will also ask once on its own, after you've run a few lookups across a couple of sessions — never on launch, and never straight after the upgrade sheet. Nothing about fiber identification changed in this release. Numbers, positions and markings are exactly as they were in 1.2.1.

Fiber 20 of a repeated group can't carry a black dash — nobody prints that. The app now names which conventions actually exist: Corning MiniXtend and Prysmian use a natural fiber with a black dash there, the FOA documents a yellow stripe on black. Your fiber number and position were always exact. Now the marking note tells you what to look for.

Accuracy fixes for tube and fiber identification. - The app no longer shows a fiber marking it cannot determine from your cable. - A black fiber in a repeated group is no longer labeled "Dash Black." - Dash markings are now visible on every fiber color, including white. - Added 6 and 36 to the standard cable counts. - Reverse lookup now names the tube by number as well as color. - Added notes on ribbon marks and tube binder threads. - Added a share button.
