Prompter Desk turns your Mac into a teleprompter operator desk for presentations, recorded scripts and studio reads. Keep your controls on the Mac and send a separate talent window to an external display recognized by macOS. KEEP THE READ MOVING Start and pause from the keyboard, adjust speed from 40 to 400 WPM, move back or forward by one or five lines, and navigate chapters. Jump to the beginning of the script or the last line of the selected chapter. Use the optional countdown and adjustable reading cue to prepare each take. EDIT AND MARK YOUR SCRIPT Edit words and passages with Edit Script, then save or cancel your changes. Share the saved script as plain text. Select a word, sentence, paragraph or passage and give it its own color. Choose text colors, background highlights or a custom palette. Import text-based PDFs, RTF/RTFD, TXT and Markdown. Extractable rich-text colors and PDF highlights are retained where supported, including detected flattened highlighter backgrounds. Show PDF highlights as colored text or background highlighting with one setting. Scanned PDFs require OCR elsewhere. USE YOUR DISPLAY SETUP Send the talent window to a connected display listed by macOS. Mirror horizontally for beam-splitter glass, flip vertically or rotate the image to suit your setup. Uses standard macOS display output and does not control third-party hardware. Display compatibility depends on macOS and any required display software or drivers. SAVE A CLIENT'S LOOK Save named setups with speed, type, colors, layout and cue preferences. Optionally include a snapshot of the script. Your script library and settings are saved locally. CONTROL FROM YOUR PHONE Use the free Prompter Desk Remote companion for iPhone and iPad to play, pause, adjust speed, cue chapters, jump to the beginning of the script or the end of the selected chapter, and share the saved script over the local network. Both apps are by Guido Diaz. The Mac runs the script; the companion is a controller, not a standalone teleprompter screen. Fixed End navigation to pause at the last line of the selected chapter instead of jumping to the end of the entire script. This also applies when using the existing Prompter Desk Remote app.
