A little polish. Nothing about how Fewer finds, keeps or removes your photos has changed.

Fewer now runs natively on iPad. Full screen in portrait and landscape, with every page laid out for the larger display and the photo card using the height it has, so the shot you are deciding on is bigger than ever. Everything still happens on the device: nothing is uploaded, and it is the same one-time purchase on iPhone and iPad.

The right copy kept. When two copies differ by almost nothing, Fewer no longer keeps a smaller re-save over the original, and a photo it kept once stays kept everywhere it appears. Never the last one. If the photo you were keeping has since been deleted in Photos, its copy is taken off the list instead of being deleted with it. Fewer suggestions you would not make. Recent screenshots that only look alike — two boarding passes, two codes — are no longer grouped, and in a run of similar shots only the ones that really resemble the keeper are suggested. "Accept all suggestions" leaves groups you already decided alone. Also: a purchase waiting for approval says so, and sizes use your language's number format.

Larger text. With the largest accessibility text sizes, the welcome screen ran off the bottom of the display and "Scan my library" could not be reached. Both first screens scroll now. Videos too. The removal list said "photo" even when it held videos. It says what it holds now, in every language. The purchase sheet for Fewer Pro is in your language as well. Cancelling a scan no longer brings the scan screen back for a moment, and items already deleted in Photos come off the removal list instead of staying in its total.

Italian. Fewer now speaks nine languages. The App Store listing is in Italian too. Counting to one. In the languages that inflect, a few lines read like "1 items" when only one photo was involved: the notes under a scan result, the figure on the confirm button, and the button that offers the next group. At one they are correct now.

Eight languages. Fewer now speaks English, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Japanese, Korean, German, French and Spanish. Undo. A mis-swipe is one tap from being put back — including a group you kept by mistake, which used to leave the queue with no way back to it. Old screenshots, free. A new category: screenshots older than three months. Recent ones are left alone, because this week's screenshot is a boarding pass or a code. A first pass you can finish. A large category now opens on its biggest groups and says plainly what share of the category they are. Two fixes you could not have seen. Videos the Photos app would not hand a poster frame for were written off as "stored only in iCloud", which quietly emptied both video categories. And on a library with many blank frames, the blurry category could switch itself off.
