PRIVATE BY ARCHITECTURE, NOT BY POLICY
Most meeting apps upload your audio and promise to behave. Sotto is built so there is nothing to misbehave with. Your recordings never leave the device, so there is no server to breach, no retention schedule to trust, and no policy that can quietly change next year.
That is also why a lot of people can use Sotto when they can't use anything else — if your employer, your regulator or your clients have ruled out cloud transcription, this is a different conversation.

WHO SAID WHAT
Sotto separates the voices in a recording and labels each speaker — the thing Voice Memos and Notes don't do. It runs on the Neural Engine, on the device.
This is measured rather than asserted. Against the AMI Meeting Corpus and its human annotation, Sotto found all four speakers in all four test meetings, with a 9.7% error rate on close-talk audio and 16–24% on a single microphone across a table. Two of those meetings were held out entirely while tuning.
When the models aren't available, Sotto shows you where the speaker changes but doesn't attach names. A confident wrong attribution is worse than none.
SUMMARIES THAT POINT BACK AT THE AUDIO
An abstract, the key points, and the action items — written by Apple's on-device foundation models. Every action item links to the moment it came from, so anything that matters is two seconds from being checked.

WHAT SOTTO CAN'T DO
• It can't record phone calls, FaceTime or Zoom. iOS gives no app access to call or system audio. Sotto records the room.
• Summaries need Apple Intelligence, so they require iPhone 15 Pro or newer. Recording, transcription and speaker labels work without it.
• Summaries can be wrong. A small on-device model is still a model — that's why every claim links back to the audio.
SOTTO PRO
There's no server bill to pass on here, because there's no server. Pro is how an app with no ads, no tracking and no data business stays alive. It lifts the summary limit and unlocks custom vocabulary for names, jargon, drug names and case law.

REQUIREMENTS
