Better at leaving out the people around you, and smarter autocorrect. - Autocorrect fixes common misspellings and everyday typos, and knows medical, legal and software terms, so it leaves them alone - Filters from the first moment, so a radio or TV in the background isn't typed while you get ready to speak - If someone else is talking when you tap Start, their words are left out and yours come through - Your voice profile only learns from you, never from the voices nearby - If background noise makes it unsure, it lets your words through instead of dropping them

Sotto Voce is now all about dictation. - It learns your voice when you set it up, and leaves out other people talking nearby - A taller keyboard with bigger Start and Clear buttons, and a glowing listening screen - Setup is three short steps, each with a video showing what to tap - "How to use it" on the home screen shows every gesture in a short video - Tapping Start before Full Access is on takes you straight to the right page in Settings - Emoji search puts the emoji you tap into your message, and tapping your message closes it - Number fields get a plain number pad - Recordings, summaries and the Enhanced model have been removed, along with the recordings and transcripts saved in the app. If you need any of them, copy them out before you update.

Faster dictation, and an emoji key. - Standard dictation types your words as you say them, about half a second behind, instead of waiting for the end of a phrase - The listening look shows the words it is hearing, keeps them on screen between phrases, and says "Tap to add these words" when some are waiting - "Listening" appears the moment you tap Start - A pause no longer leaves a stray full stop: "like this. And this" becomes "like this and this", and doubled marks are tidied - An emoji key sits beside 123, and 123 switches at once - Hold backspace to delete letter by letter, then word by word - Autocorrect and double-space full stop stay out of email addresses, web addresses and password fields - On the number keys, punctuation then space takes you back to the letters - The keys come back sooner after you stop, and Clear stays available while a message is shown - Smaller fixes: accents after a near-miss tap, the Exit button is easier to hit, capitals no longer flicker as the keyboard appears, and "outside" is written as said

Dictation is more dependable, especially in messaging apps. - Fixed: in some apps, whole phrases went missing from a dictation when the app reported an empty message box. Everything you say now lands - A word corrected after it was typed no longer loses a letter - A dictation that stops while you are holding the space bar or push-to-talk no longer leaves the keys blank - Tapping Start straight after Stop works every time - Autocorrect leaves dictated words alone - If the microphone was refused, the app offers Open Settings instead of a retry that could never work - While Enhanced is still downloading, the keyboard says so and waits instead of giving up - A Keyboard Setup row stays in the Dictation tab, so Full Access can be turned back on if it was switched off - Smaller fixes: emoji search closes properly, the "stopped after a minute of silence" note shows only once, and dictation recovers better when the phone is low on memory

Fixing a word is quicker, and the keyboard stays out of your way. - Hold the space bar and slide to move the cursor left and right, like a trackpad. The keys go blank while you hold it - When autocorrect changes a word, a small bubble shows what you typed. Tap it to keep your spelling. Keep a word twice and it is never changed again, and typing the correction yourself undoes that - Common slips are fixed now: teh, ot, ti, taht, dont and more - Recent emoji stay put when you use them again, and the row keeps your five most recent - Dictation tidies itself: a stuttered word is typed once, a word you re-say after deleting is not doubled, and pressing a key or muting never adds a full stop. Pause for three seconds to end a sentence - Capital letters in the right places: none in email and username fields, every word in name fields, and a capital after a new line - Dictation stops by itself after a minute of silence, so a forgotten keyboard is not left listening - Smarter full stops: pausing before "and", "or" or "because" no longer ends your sentence, and "but" or "so" gets a comma - "Two FA" is written as 2FA - The keyboard matches light and dark mode correctly in every app - Moving the cursor into the middle of a sentence no longer capitalises the next word - A steadier keyboard on iOS 27, and a cleaner top bar on smaller iPhones

Dictation now writes the way you would. - Numbers come out as you would write them: £1,250, 07700 900412, LS2 7PN. Small numbers inside a sentence stay as words (Enhanced) - A pause of a few seconds ends the sentence with a full stop (Enhanced) - Dictating into the middle of a sentence no longer leaves a stray full stop or capital letter - LOL, OMG and other chat abbreviations come out in capitals - Spoken commands like "full stop" and "new line" are now on by default, and "full stop" is heard more reliably - A bolder app icon, and the Sunset theme is now orange instead of red - A dot on Speech Recognition points you to Enhanced if you have not downloaded it yet - Fixed: doubled spaces and doubled full stops

Your first words no longer go missing, and the Dynamic Island now shows at a glance whether Sotto Voce is listening. - Fixed: the first word could get lost when you started speaking right away - Dynamic Island: the logo dims when nothing is listening, lights up when it is, matches your chosen colour theme, and lets you stop dictation from there - Wave is now the default look while you speak - New 30-second option for Turn Off After - Smoother spacing when dictation starts in the middle of a sentence - Small touch-ups to the keyboard buttons
