Hark now runs natively on iPad: practice in a centered column with a larger staff. Also fixed the main screen freezing with some of the largest accessibility text sizes.

Adjusted when Hark may ask for an App Store rating after a practice session. You can still rate Hark any time in Settings.

In minor keys, the cadence now uses a major dominant chord with a leading tone. The questions themselves stay in natural minor. Tap the key name at the top to hear the key again — now in every reference mode, not only “Once per practice”. Fixed a message on the Pro purchase screen that incorrectly said you had passed the free levels after trying five Pro questions.

Hark now helps you with how to listen, not only where to tap: new hints appear while you get to know a drill and after a miss. Each drill has a "How to listen" button above its levels: the method in four short points. The placement test now shows its maximum of 21 questions and only sets the starting level for scale degrees. Translations and musical terminology have been improved. You can also rate Hark from Settings.

A calmer training screen. The big listening circle is gone, so the ladder has more room. "Play again" sits under the staff, and "Next" is always in the same place at the bottom. After a right answer Hark moves on by itself; after a miss it waits for you. Also fixed: the cadence chord no longer falls apart into single notes on the first question.

Hark Pro now offers monthly and yearly subscriptions, with a one-week free trial for eligible customers. The one-time purchase is still available. If you already bought Pro or redeemed a teacher's code for permanent access, you keep it without a subscription.

In the introductory session, the first question shows where to tap. In scale-degree exercises, feedback after a mistake names the note more clearly; its return to the tonic plays automatically. If a weak-spots session would cover the whole level, you can repeat the level itself. The introduction is easier to follow, and note names with a flat stay together on the ladder.

Progressions and melodies now count every chord and note you get right, not just whole answers — and the tonic of a progression is already in place, so you only name the chords that follow. With note names, the key line now shows which note is 1. You can write to the developer straight from Settings, which is also tidier.

Weak-spot runs no longer claim you passed a level — and they lead back to the level they came from. Session results say what went well and what's next instead of a pass mark. The question about a daily reminder waits below your results instead of covering them. On the staff, the walk home lights up note by note, in time with the sound. In the onboarding you now move the key yourself and hear that the degrees stay the same. The key reference settings are plain: what sounds, when it sounds, and you can listen to each.

Housekeeping. When a session is left early, Hark now records whether the sound had started and how long the question had been on screen — so a broken audio session stops looking like a person who lost interest. What you answered and whether it was right still never leave your phone; the privacy policy says exactly what is sent.

The home screen now follows the course, not the last level you opened: it always points at the next thing you can actually train. When the free programme is finished it says so and shows what comes next in Pro, instead of quietly offering to repeat an old level. Each kind of training now names the level you are up to.
