Turn your Lightroom catalog or photo folder into a field benchmark—discover your lenses, cameras, shooting patterns, keepers, image quality, and export a polished PDF.
LensAtlas turns your existing photography archive into a personal, evidence-based gear report.
Know what your gear is actually doing—using the images you already made.
Built exclusively for the latest macOS, LensAtlas combines a modern Liquid Glass interface with fast, native Mac performance.
Scan a Lightroom Classic catalog (.lrcat) or choose a folder of photos. LensAtlas reads available EXIF and XMP metadata locally, including camera bodies, lenses, focal length, aperture, ISO, shutter speed, capture date, ratings, flags, keywords, and more.
Supported formats include JPEG, TIFF, DNG, PSD, PSB, RAW, HEIC, and other image formats containing readable EXIF data. Your catalog, originals, and sidecars remain untouched.
A two-pass workflow
The first pass quickly builds a live report from metadata, so useful findings appear immediately. The second pass performs detailed pixel analysis in the background, updates the report as it works, shows progress and ETA, and keeps the interface responsive.
LensAtlas prevents your Mac from going to sleep during an active scan, so even large archives can finish unattended.
Explore your real-world shooting patterns
- See which lenses and camera bodies you use most.
- Track usage over time, grouped by camera body.
- Explore focal length and aperture together in a visual heatmap.
- See focal length and aperture distributions in clear charts.
- Understand your ISO and shutter-speed habits, with sensible grouping for large archives.
- Compare lens and camera-body combinations when a closer comparison is useful.
Connect usage with results
LensAtlas separates what you shoot from what you keep. Review Lightroom picks and 4–5-star images, keeper rate by lens, keeper rate by camera body, keeper rate by aperture and focal length, ratings and pick distributions, and the combinations that perform best in your own workflow.
Filter the report by lens or camera body to focus every graph on the selection that matters. Findings use consistent comparison cohorts and sample-size rules, so small or incomplete groups are clearly marked as exploratory rather than presented as certainty.
Look closer at image quality
The technical analysis section gives you an easy-to-read view of:
- Apparent sharpness
- Low focus confidence
- Motion blur likelihood
- Exposure problem likelihood
- Noise
- Highlight clipping
- Shadow clipping
Color gauges, quality profiles, per-lens comparisons, and a plain-language conclusion help you see where technical issues are concentrated.
These indicators describe patterns in your photographs—not laboratory lens performance—and help distinguish a possible gear concern from the demands of a particular subject, scene, or technique.
Save and revisit your work
Completed scans are stored in History, so you can return to previous reports without starting over.
Export a PDF of the exact current report, including the active lens and camera filters, so the version you are viewing is the version you share or keep.
Private by design
Your catalog, photos, metadata, and analysis stay on your Mac. Sources are opened read-only, originals are never modified, and no photo content, metadata, catalog data, or source paths are uploaded.
Available in English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese.
LensAtlas helps answer the question that matters most:
Which gear is best in theory—and which gear is best for me?
