Design heavyweight bass, kinetic leads, evolving pads, and polished electronic textures in a premium hybrid synth for macOS.
Basalt is a hybrid software synthesizer for macOS producers, with a bass-forward factory library and flexible tools for electronic sound design.
Explore virtual analog, wavetable, FM, granular, spectral, multisample, and noise engines. Shape your sound with dual morphing filters, 32 modulation routes, macro controls, MPE performance, an arpeggiator, chord memory, microtuning, and 24 effect types across eight reorderable slots.
Create jungle and drum-and-bass subs, neurofunk textures, dubstep growls, garage bass, leads, pads, plucks, keys, percussion, and effects. Browse original factory presets, then make them your own.
Work with a scalable interface, visual meters and scopes, drag-and-drop modulation, and editable wavetables. Save your own presets and import audio for sample-based sound design.
The Mac App Store edition includes the standalone synthesizer and an AUv3 instrument extension for compatible hosts. Requires an Apple silicon Mac running macOS 13 or later.
Basalt works offline, requires no account, and contains no advertising or tracking. Presets and imported audio stay on your Mac unless you choose to share them.
