Been is where you go for recommendations you actually trust — from the friends whose taste you already rely on, not strangers, ads, or algorithms.
Landing in a new city? Open a friend's profile, filter by where you are, and see the exact spots they'd send you to. Planning a trip? Ask your most-travelled friends for their list and get it before you fly.
HOW IT WORKS
• Follow the people whose taste you trust
• Browse their recommended places, filtered by city
• Save spots to your Want to Go list for later
• Tag your own favourites and build a profile worth sharing
• Ask friends for recs on any city — they answer in seconds
WHY BEEN
• Real recommendations from real friends — no ads, no fake reviews, no noise
• Every place is somewhere a person you trust has actually been
• Filter by city so you only see what's relevant to where you are
• Show off your home city and the places that make it yours
• Beautiful, fast, and built for the way you actually ask for recommendations
Stop scrolling through a thousand strangers' reviews. Been gives you the shortlist that matters — from the people who know you.
Download Been and see where your friends recommend, wherever you land.
Ratings & Reviews
- This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.
We've added some big ones:
• Push notifications — get a nudge the moment a friend shares a spot with you, answers your recommendation request, or sends a message.
• Import places from anywhere — save spots straight from screenshots and links (Google Maps, TikTok and more) to your Want to Go list.
• Share a place in chat — drop a link into a DM and it turns into a saved place you can both see.
• Chats now have their own spot in the tab bar, with an unread badge so you never miss a message.
• Tidier notifications — repeat shares and requests from the same person now roll up into one.
• Faster, more reliable sign-in, plus lots of polish and bug fixes.
